I'm considering moving to the states, in particular California. I have openings in San Diego and Los Angeles, but am leaning heavily towards SD since it seems easier to manage there at the beginning.

I don't know much about these cities, especially SD, and the picture of LA is probably quite superficial and skewed (from movies etc.), so I would appreciate some feedback from you folks.

In general, how is SD compared to LA? The people? The gay scene? Housing and commuting? How is the job market in LA and SD currently compared to the rest of Cal? Other things of interest?

I've lived in L.A for several years now and I can only tell you my experience. I haven't spent too much time in SD, Oceanside yes but not the heart of SD so I can't really give you my two cents about that but Los Angeles; I have a love-hate relationship with it. Love that everything you wanna do, well almost everything, is around you. The weather is great most of the time and something is always happening and yes, big dicks all around :)

What I don't like about it is the gay scene, traffic, radio and beach!! haha

The gay scene because I feel like 99% of gay guys in L.A are a little too shallow and majority of them are more concerned with what is going on in Lady Gaga's life than their own. Not only that but I hardly find anything in common with gay guys. At least the ones in the gay scene in L.A that I have met but it could def be different for you!!! :)

Radio sucks, traffic sucks and I wish they had a better selection of food! It is like Mexican in every other corner, haha.

but good luck!!!! :biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1::biggrin1:

Hehe, I'll aim for SD then. I've heard many mixed accounts about LA, similar to your, iBottom. Highways, superficiality etc. I know there are people for everyone there too, but I don't want to run around for the mine with light and lantern.

How's the cost of living? Is the city affluent compared to others in Cal?
