What a shame.......

After a lengthy, smiling pause, Sarah Palin could not name a Supreme Court decision she disagrees with, beyond Roe v. Wade, in an interview that aired tonight on CBS.

The Alaska governor had just finished explaining that abortion should be decided by individual states when CBS anchor Katie Couric asked, "What other Supreme Court decisions do you disagree with?"

"Well, let's see," Palin said, stalling for time. "There's, of course -- in the great history of America rulings, there have been rulings, that's never going to be absolute consensus by every American. And there are those issues, again, like Roe v. Wade where I believe are best held on a state level and addressed there. So, you know, going through the history of America, there would be, there would be others but..."

Asked again if she could think of any, Palin answered without naming a ruling or even subject area on which she would challenge the high court.

Haha. Being a history major is a prerequisite to accomplishing anything.

I can maybe understand not being able to pick a particular case she disagreed with, but not to be able to parry the question well, which any thinking person could do in a heartbeat with some general discussion about how the Court splits itself, or conservative vs. centrist judges or reflections of contemporary morays or some bullshit about constructionism...anything.

She is so poorly spoken and performs so badly under pressure that all of her vaunted "communication skills" go right out the window. All Biden has to do is show some facade of respect and try to keep his contempt in check and she'll die on the vine on Thursday. This woman is a train wreck and a total disaster for McCain.

Lots of people believe she will crash and burn at the debate...
I'm inclined to suspect that she will not...don't ask me why...

me too.. she has had plenty of time to get her ms. Vice President USA role down pat.

Also, I dont think this is that big of a deal. It's hard to think of SCOTUS cases you disagree with. Thank god she didn't say "Brown vs Board of Education"

What about the Supreme Court ruling that legalized anal sex (in the privacy of your house u can do anything with a consenting adult), or the ruling on using Eminent_domain for private commercial enterprises (condemn and buy out your house and put up a McDonald's).

She's "conservative" she should know about the sodomy case. And the eminent domain case was all over the news a few years ago. I think most regular folks disagree with that ruling.

She's underqualified, at least with Dan Quayle you sorta knew what he meant but wasn't articulate. Beakon, Potatoe anyone?

Mayor of a town of 7,000 to Gov. of a state. uhm experience? knowledge?

In all fairness I can see how someone might not be able name a supreme court case off the top of their head. However, that doesn't change the fact that she's a dunce.
I agree. While I try to keep up with current events I don't have a photographic memory of every supreme court verdict, Then again I am not a vice-presidential candidate. I'm sure there has been a team of people prepping her for the debate tomorrow night.

I was pointing out the fact that there was a case she had a problem with only a few months ago, and she didn't even have the mental wherewithal to bring that one up.

She's embarrassing.

ahh, thats gold.
