Just wondering who believes Sarah (the pit bull) Palin is a serious option for being the GOP's pick for the White House in 2012.

She is my dream candidate! Exerpts from her book:
If any vegans came over for dinner, I could whip them up a salad, then explain my philosophy on being a carnivore: If God had not intended for us to eat animals, how come He made them out of meat?
I love meat. I eat pork chops, thick bacon burgers, and the seared fatty edges of a medium-well-done steak. But I especially love moose and caribou. I always remind people from outside our state that there's plenty of room for all Alaska's animals -- right next to the mashed potatoes.

I wonder if she has a special Thanksgiving Moose (turd) pie recipe. I'm sure she knows and often tells the old joke about it. And I'm still waiting to get her Moose chili recipe.

She's her own worst enemy. Her book will be perfect hindsight. Little clips from it appearing in the newspapers have shown she wroted it folksy.....

She's a good joke. And a target for satire.

She has had some success at helping candidates to lose general elections.

My view from the UK - That anyone, anywhere could consider her for president is amazing. That she already has political power in Alaska is deeply worrying. She comes across as an unloving, ignorant bigot. If she really answers to a significant section of American views (such that the Republicans could consider her) then there is something seriously wrong with America. Not that I'm an Obama fan. In fact I find it hard to get enthusiastic about American politics (and we get a lot of it in the UK).

if i were guessing today the gop candidate would be Romney but we're still two years away. I'd say probably Palin is a non issue.

No, but the dumb-dumbs in this country would probably elect her.

It means she thinks she can quit being the POTUS (if she were to win) after 2.5 years in office.
