This ain't no cameo, or a lame role like pornstars have done in the past. Not only that but it actually has gotten rave reviews. I am curious about this one.

Interesting that soderbergh casted her, but its a former indie director trying to go back to being considered an edgy indie director, which might be hard to do after directing all the ocean's movies. But casting a porn star, damn that is edgy...sarcasm. The movie hasn't even come out yet, so there are no real "rave reviews". The cut shown at sundance was unfinished and a lot of people actually said it was crap, but wrote it off as being unfinished and unfair to judge. Dont know about the Tribeca version though. But from what I've heard, her performance was worthy of porn star. But I haven't seen it so I cant judge yet. It'll be in a very limited release later this month and then come out on dvd very shortly after like most of these types of films.

Oh my, she's really a bad actress. A pornstar doing a movie about prostitution is pretty cliche' if you ask me. Don't get me wrong, I think Sasha is interesting and intelligent and lovely but this looks like a rant disguised as art. That makes it spectacle.

I have to disagree with her here too. Sexual liberation does not necessarily mean promiscuity. It means self awareness and empathy.

In other words, I wish she'd done a smart sci fi movie or something like that. That would throw people for a loop. This is masturbation.

soderbergh's a great fucking director. his failures are more interesting than most all of the big studio's output. and yes, i love that he occasionally does studio films like the ocean's franchises and erin brockovich to finance his experiments like che and bubble. plus, he gets a lifetime pass for sex lies and videotape alone.

so, i'll give him the benefit of the doubt any day. if he cast sasha gray, it ain't no gimmick, as some have cynically posted here. and from what i've heard directly from four people who saw an early cut at sundance, it sounds like he's at the top of his game with this one. i can't wait to see it.
