hawl: Regarding the Norquist story I posted in this thread, sixties-radical-turned-conservative David Horowitz is going ballistic over the story-www.frontpagemag.com/articles/readarticle.asp?ID=11209&p=1. I think his frustration over the lack of coverage of this story stems at least partly from Norquist's long-time friendship with the notorious Karl Rove. Hey, I dunno, but remember that obscure story you saw on this board in like July about a Plame chick? After that I'd feel I was letting down all you nice folks on the left and/or right if I didn't follow up on a dramatically growing story I casually posted here. Take it as you wish, and hope no one feels that bandwidth was wasted.

str8_nnj: ...fraid not speedo... main stream wouldn't take the time to explain it.
When presidential canidates can bring something up in a speech...such as saying Bush knew of an impending terroist act...and when pressed on what he meant by saying such an explosive statement....he pauses and say's.....well thats what the rumor is and thats what "some" people believe...

...some people believe the moon walk was staged in arizona too....

This coming from a front runner.... 8)

SG[/quote]The most mainstream place I've seen it was Joe Conason's blog in Salon. Liberal blogs like Eschaton and Altercation have mentioned it, but it is an intramural Republican squabble ("Put down the porn, let's watch some hot Republican-on-Republican action!") and I don't know much about conservative blogs and "grassroots websites". This conservative site has an animated discussion going on (It begins with someone asking "Do I hear the sound of flamethrowers being fired up?"!)-www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1036935/posts, briefly interrupted when some maniac decides to post the entire long and already linked article! I'm waiting to see what bestselling author (See No Evil and Sleeping with the Enemy) not to mention ex-CIA guy Robert Baer has to say about all this. I don't have one of his books handy, but he is all about exposing Saudi/Beltway corruption and lobbying. This is a Republican article that briefly describes how strained the situation was back in March-www.nationalreview.com/york/york031903.asp, with Norquist already calling Gaffney a "sick little bigot". Apparently, things have since declined!
