As many of you know I have been on disability since May 2, 2006 due to Meniere's Disease. I have a physical at 2:00 PM EST today. Although I am not in remission, I have managed to control many of the more annoying symptoms with a very strict diet. No caffeine, less than 1,000 mgs of sodium a day; and I drink and cook with only distilled water. I pretty much cook everything from scratch as well. As a point of reference Campbell's Chicken & Rice contains 820 mgs. sodium. If I were to eat that, then I pretty much couldn't eat anything else the rest of the day. Even sodas contain small amounts of sodium. :frown1: So they are out as well.

I am hoping and praying that the doctor releases me so that I can go back to work full time; but will of course accept half-time. That means I won't be here as much, but I will still check in cause I like y'all so much.

    NJ,

I just want you to feel better. I know it must be so frustrating. There are so many of these disorders around that are affecting women right at the times in their lives when they want to be free to get up and do their thing. I will be praying for you.

Count me in njqt466! Good grief, such a strict regime, and yet such a cheerful disposition. You are one hell of a lady!

Wishing you all the best with the doctor. Be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I hope your physical went well, and I will keep thinking the good thoughts for you. I hope you get to go back to work and resume that part of your life. Not working can be very difficult. You've managed to do it well, though, as far as I can tell.

    Take care, beautiful lady!

Good luck. That condition can really be difficult. But it has in some people been driven into remission. Do what the doc says do. Also check out the natural remedies as well. Things like garlic and other herbs have beneficial benefits for many conditions. Vitamin E and fish oil do as well.

Wishing and praying for you a total remission that stays in remission.

I wish you'd sign on and update us! lol. I'm all excited and anxious and everything else! You're like a sister to me! I don't have Meniere's, but I have vertigo... I know how much it sucks and how bad it can impact your life. It sucks. :frown1:
