Now that I have your attention... :)

I see a lot of posts here in the Web Personalities and Influencers, Celebs, and OnlyFans Reviews forums talking about performers who "scam" their followers. Sometimes I just see things like "they're just scamming, I wont sub".

Im wondering how people here define what scamming is? Obviously taking money for something and not giving a promised product or service in return if a payment has been given or something would fit the definition, but Im wondering what LPSG members define as a "scam" when it comes to OF accounts.

I have a feeling that people mean more than what would be formally deemed stealing or fraudulent business practices, but I really wonder if people would be willing to tell us what they consider to be a scam account or scammy behaviour?

BIG NOTE: DONT POST NAMES IN YOUR RESPONSES. I JUST WANT TO KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS ON WHAT SCAMMING MEANS, NOT *WHO* YOU MIGHT CONSIDER TO BE SOMEONE WHO DOES IT. ;)

DM ME BEFORE YOU POST IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. :)

I'd consider it a scam when the cost far exceeds the quality of the content, or if you sign up paying a subscription and then they post Instagram quality content on their main feed and anything worth seeing behind a DM paywall. Also vague suggestive captions on ppv content that you don't realize is underwhelming until after you pay for it. Also when people send ppvs and do things to hide important information like I've seen people send dm ppvs saying the video was the hottest thing they ever made but then after you buy it you see it was a 1 minute video cut into 3 different videos as to hide the actual length of the video which you would have seen if it was just 1 video.

I was going to say this pretty much.

I've been subscribed to 120 different onlyfans pages over the last few years, and I can honestly say that "scam" is most often used to refer to these "influencers" that are just looking to cash out on their thirsty gay audience while never really having any intention in delivering on content. Onlyfans has a very specific reputation and these influencers take advantage of that reputation when they make a lackluster onlyfans page and you know its intentional because if they didn't want to post salacious content as is expected with onlyfans reputation, then they could have very easily made a Patreon, but no, they bank on people assuming, expecting, wanting, that they'll pull their dick out or cum on camera.

A scam to me is when someone mislead people and don't be upfront about what they're going to be posting. If they're not going to post sex or explicit nudes that's fine because onlyfans wasn't intended to be just for that when it started out. Sex workers just popularized it and took. So whenever someone has an onlyfans a lot people expect sex and nudes. If they're not going to do that then say that so they're won't be any confusion because they're some onlyfans that are good that don't post explicit material.

Onlyfans in general is a scam, but when creators are posting other people’s nudes as their own or baiting people to subscribe is definitely scamming.
What about people who manage other peoples' content and have more than one performer under the same page? What would you look for to separate this from the other profiles you mentioned?

I’m not talking about “managers” posting multiple people which also sounds dodgy.

I’m talking about people who post a pic using a dildo under their clothes to look like their cock or stealing someone else’s dick pics and posting them claiming it’s their dick

It's very simple: Male OF accounts not showing dick will be considered a scam.
Not at all. As long as they don’t insinuate they are, I don’t care. I believe they should all be upfront in the bio what they do or do not show.

If you declare that there will be no nudity in your OF bio but still send out gated messages with captions suggesting otherwise, you're scamming.

If the photos and videos that people expect to find in an OF are all hidden behind a paywall, you're scamming. This doesn't apply to OF that are free to subscribe; it's assumed that you're signing up to see Instagram photos and need to pay for racier ones.

If you charge a high price for your OF but deliver middling content (IG reposts, purposefully low-quality videos, etc.), you're scamming. I consider you the OF equivalent of currency exchange kiosks.

If you’re charging a subscription fee above $9.99 and not posting new content every day or every second day you’re scamming.

if you’re charging a subscription fee and on top of that charging for ppv content you’re a scammer.

In the context of an onlyfans account, here’s how I describe them as scamming:

When the person is charging an absurd monthly subscription fee just to see their content (usually anything higher than $10 is a total rip off), and show nothing but PG-13 rated content that could easily be shared on their Instagram for free, and will only post something once every couple of weeks. Then on top of that, they send DMs with offers for “exclusive content” for an even more absurd fee of something like $40-$50, insinuating they will show nudes (while also promoting the same thing on their Instagram stories, like showing the “exclusive” pic with the good parts covered up by some kind of gif or sticker), only for the photo to not be X rated at all, and they are still covered up. They will MAYBE show a bit of crack, or a more risqué underwear pic, but nothing more than that. But you will never know for sure until you give in and pay the over inflated PPV price.

You are forced to pay the membership fee without knowing anything about what their content is like, then are enticed to pay even more for the “good stuff” but then end up being severely disappointed by false advertising. That’s my definition of scammer and scamming in the context of onlyfans. I’ve seen this happen many, many times, mainly with all of the reality tv rejects trying to get us to pay their bills for them so they don’t have to work a real job.

Yes, but, "good stuff" is in the eye of the beholder, no? The creator may see it as "good stuff," but to others they may define it as automatic nudes when there is no hint of this happening, which then pisses people off (on their own accord and their own false promise), which leads to false claims of "scams" and a "scammer."

If you had read all of the comments here you would see that your reply only address a very small group of people.

Ok, let me give you a specific real life example of someone actually “hinting” at showing nudes, and then does the opposite. This person is a fairly well known reality tv reject that a lot of gays thirst over. This person knew exactly how to use that to their advantage to scam as much money as possible. This person posted on their Instagram story a preview photo of themselves from the neck down, showing their shirtless torso, and very cleverly showed just enough of their thigh to show they aren’t wearing anything else. They put a BIG present emoji over where their dick would be with the caption “birthday suit only fans exclusive!!” and so sneakily covered what anyone with eyes would assume is their exposed dick. The literal definition of “birthday suit” is a naked body. This person charges $30 monthly subscription to their page. They also charged $20 to see this “exclusive” photo as a PPV dm. So not only did they not post it on their main page that we already pay $30/mth for, but now we have to pay an additional $20-$30 for some possible dick. As someone who has seen this “only fans exclusive” photo, I can 100% tell you that this person was not naked in their photo. Their dick was still covered, and no nudity was seen. They were not in their “birthday suit” as promised, and they so cleverly showed just enough skin in the preview photo to entice people to pay the extra fee just to be shown zero nudity. So yes, this person SCAMMED people out of their hard earned money by insinuating they were seeing a naked photo of them, falsely advertised this, and made bank off of it. This is just ONE of many, many, many examples of this kind of shit happening on only fans when it comes to these reality tv rejects, and only fans continues to let it happen.
