Has anyone had success with laser or surgical scar removal procedures? I ask because I have a smallish hernia scar right on my lower abdomen that makes me a little self concious.

Vitamin E oil, do some research on it. I've had stitches a few times, always put vitamin e on the scar and now you can hardly see it.

How much $ do you have available? I have a small scar on my chest. I saw a very reputable plastic surgeon and recommended Fraxel. I'm going to start it in the next month or so. He recommended 4-5 treatments. 1000 for the laser/equipment and 500 per treatment. You can prob negotiate (i'm in the process of doing that)...use credit card or CareCredit (I don't know about it but it's mentioned)

If it's a relatively new scar covering it with silicon sheets available for this purpose in drug stores can help. For older scars that are irregular in texture, Fraxel is good. For scars that are hyperpigmented IPL lasers are helpful.

It's right on my belt line so the elastic of my underwear would wear any make up away. It's also a pretty old scar, got it when I was 10ish. Not really irregular, but it's noticible. I'm going to look into that fraxel thing. thanks

I had good success with IPL improving the color of a scar and there's less down time than Fraxel.
