My wife has scar tissue and adhesions as a consequence of multiple c-sections. In layman's terms, the docs say things aren't where they're supposed to be. She went to multiple docs in the beginning, including a couple specialists at a university med center.

Has anyone dealt with this successfully? The only option we're aware of is surgery, which is major and not guaranteed to make anything better.

Sex has been so painful for her over the past several years that it's been virtually non-existent.

She said the remedy is, "Penis reduction surgery."

Where exactly is the scar tissue?

I had a c-section and my vagina and cervix were unaffected.

I'm not really sure. I think the scar tissue has pushed her uterus out of position. I do know that she has pain from pap tests, and sometimes the doc has difficulty getting a good swipe because of the 'new' position of her cervix.

OK, that's not something I've heard of before. And, as I said, it's not my experience.

My instinct is that more surgery to fix a problem caused by surgery should be a last ditch resort. Other things I could suggest would be trying different positions - but if it has been years then I suspect you have done that.

Really all I can offer is to suggest that there is a lot more to sex than penis in vagina. There's many, many things you and your wife can do to satisfy yourselves and each other without putting your penis in her vagina.

But then maybe you already do that, too.

You might actually be better asking that question somewhere like Women's Health Support Forums.

if there is scar tissue pulling her uterus out of it's correct position then the only thing to fix it is surgery. it's one of those no other option situations.

    I concur with Dolfette.

Luckily for your wife there's relatively minor laproscopic surgery for adhesions with a laser scalp that surgeons can use. Causes less risk of further adhesions from the corrective surgery. Good luck to her. It's a miserable feeling when you can't enjoy sex anymore. Keep telling her she's beautiful and do small thoughtfulnesses throughout the day to show her you still love her. Often a little depression can accompany the physical pain she's feeling too.

Thanks, everyone for your responses. Sometimes it feels like she (we) are ready to give up.

Aww! I hope you guys don't. The surgery I mentioned takes about an hour and it's day surgery. The worst pain she's feel is from the gas they use to expand the cavity. The body has to reabsorb it so it can be wuite uncomfortable with referred pain in weird places like her shoulder blades. Recovery is only about a week and if they find something like cycts or fibriods then they can take care of it immediately. Sex can resume usually after 2 weeks.

Hugs and share our posts with your wife. Hopefully it will make her feel a little better too!

Do make sure they give her the laparoscopy option. And she needs to get physical therapy for the regaining of muscle tone. I hope she desires you even if she can't accommodate you, and you two figure out many ways to make one another feel loved.

Oh my, yes we certainly do. She desires me in every way but in one. And with some good humor brought up the irony of our situation not long ago--she'd be more compatible with a smaller than average guy, and I'd be more compatible with a woman who prefers an extra large guy.

My wife had adhesions from her hysterectomy and had to heve surgery to have those removed. She's getting little twinges now and then and we're thinking it's a few more adhesions once again. In our attempt to not have to go the surgical route again, we came across this:

The Wurn Technique - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

We saw a book about this on Amazon, bought it, and immediately got disappointed (with the book). The whole thing was more or less one advertisement about the technique and how you can learn it from a certified physical therapist at their facility.

We're nowhere near one of their facilities, but hopefully you are and can try them out. We're not convinced it's good or worthless and genuinely curious about the efficacy.

She didn't marry just your penis, she married YOU. Sounds like she was fortunate in her choice, too.

RawDog--Just from looking at the wiki article, I think I can take your word for it. However, that long list of references they used might be worth a look.

Thanks, Not Punny. I wonder if this can actually work?

I had a build up of scar tissue myself from a gash & stitches on my arm, and a friend (who is a PT) recommended I lightly massage the tissue to break it up so it wouldn't cause problems for the nerves underneath. It seems to have worked.

There are some natural supplements that help to break up scar tissue. You might want to do some research on this.
