This video is an example of the downfall of the studio of Sean Cody. They are now just another gay porn studio. No longer will we see guys like Abe, Shaw, Calvin or Nixon. Those days are gone.
My comment was in no way an indictment on the attractiveness of the current models. Many of them get my juices flowing. But the difference between the Sean Cody of today and the Sean Cody of yesterday is like the difference between taking home a guy you see at the bar all the time and taking home that new guy at the bar who keeps staring at you. And when you take that guy home you find out he's in town on vacation and that his regular job is that of a seminarian at...The Vatican! (This actually happened to me, BTW, and in of all places when I lived in San Diego!)

Their scenes nowadays look so glossy as well. If you check out their hottest vids, it's just a couple cameras in a room. Everything has this sterile lighting and sheen to it nowadays.

That the models on the current Sean Cody are guys you’d expect to see at any other gay porn studio whereas the models on the old Sean Cody are guys you’d never expect to see doing porn. In my analogy, I met and took home a guy I would never have expected to meet at a gay bar - a man who was studying to become a Catholic priest in the seminary at the Vatican. The old Sean Cody introduced us to those types of guys. Guys like Abe, Shaw and Calvin.

On it's face this doesn't make much sense though. If SC had so many of those "type of guys" doing porn at that point, then they do look like the type of guys you'd expect to see doing porn? What am I missing here? How does one "look like they would do porn".
To me, it’s more of an aesthetic difference. SC seems to be doing sketches more, similar to NDS. And I think it’s devaluing overall. I always loved the bits at the beginning of a SC video that was just the two guys hanging out. It built a sense of comradery and intimacy between the two before the scene started. You got to see their sense of chemistry outside of a sexual setting, and that helped cement the idea that they genuinely wanted to fuck each other’s brains out.
I personally don’t see too much difference between someone like Shaw and someone like, idk, Austin Wolf. But I do think that SC had a good habit of finding these boy next door types or muscular himbos that were entertaining to get to know. And now, they seem more interested in OF models and sketches. It just seems like they’re not seeing their own worth as a company. And that really sucks.

The other, as you said it yourself, was casting "boy next door" kinda guys.
“Plot” is a very forgiving word for it. More like scenarios that have very little dialogue. It would be one thing if that’s what the models wanted to do to lead into the scene. But I doubt it.
I don’t mind stuff with plot like Icon Male or Disruptive Films. *But that’s not what I go to SC for.*
