He's not well known, but actor Sean Maher has came out of the closet a little over a month ago. He's probably best known for his role as Simon Tam in Firefly and Serenity. He also played John Stamos's partner in Wedding Wars.

I must say, when I heard, this was one I didn't see coming. Unlike ZQ, who it seems everybody simply assumed was gay all along, Sean was a surprise to me. But a pleasant one!

He's also a father of two young children with his long-term partner. Yay for him.

On a continuing openly-gay-celebrity tip, Ricky Martin has applied for and received Spanish citizenship so that he can legally marry his partner there and make a proper family for his children.

It's mind boggling how archaic the USA is on some things.
