I just read some posts in another thread that was asking opinions guys had of of other men's grooming habits. I guess I found it a little amusing because it became a little fight about not noticing or paying attention because they weren't gay.
My question is, do guys really think it makes them gay to notice how another man grooms himself? And also I know it's awkward but do you think it makes you gay to look at other guys in a situation like that? I'm just curious because it just seems really normal to look, not stare or anything but just look and notice.

I've had guys give me compliments on my body in the locker room and that's a great confidence booster for me. But when a guy stares at my cock after coming out of the shower, that's just creepy.

I haven't seen a lot of guys grooming in the locker room. There's always the occasional shaving, but other than that, not really.

Haha no, I didn't mean actually grooming there and then. I just meant the way they are groomed :)

I never been in that situation (naked with a man or men) but I think its normal to just look, the human is curious, and by moment my eyes just move "alone", I mean if I see something in the street like something ugly or I dont want to Watch it, I can't help it my eyes always watch it for a few moment ... or maybe its me who are weird and cn't control my own eyes :p

and I dont think its gay, unless you stare at it for 1 min and watch the guy in his eyes with a naughty smile lol (and if a guy do me that that would totaly creep me)

well no one really gets naked in our locker rooms at school, im a varsity uni athlete, but i dont think it is gay to look but at the same time i dont think many straight guys look around in the change room at least i don't look. im not interested in looking at other guys i change and then get going

since no one really gets naked we dont always change in the change room. the track team has both guys and girls on it obviously so when ever we get a chance to change in front of the girls we usually take it.

I don't think it makes you gay at all. It's human nature to look at private parts of any gender

Definitely not. What makes a guy gay is if he's attracted to and falls in love with other guys.

I agree but it just seems funny that some of the guys on this site don't seem to believe that.

No it doesn't make a man gay to notice someone that has never used a razor in his life. Nor does it make a man gay if he does know what a razor is.
Some guys are just way to uptight about exposing their body, worst yet to another guy.

I agree with 9er, I'm from GB and at school we always changed and showered together, so tho I'm sure some boys were embarrassed we all got used to it. But in USA I've seen guys so upright about being naked that they shower in their shorts! Guys seem increasingly uncomfortable to be seen or see someone naked. It doesn't make you seem gay in my opinion to glance at other guys or check them out as long as you are respectful and not weird. We notice guys bodies and muscles right and compare ourselves. Why would our cocks be any different? It doesn't mean you want to jump on them!

I definitely look at other men, and believe that most other men do as well (including some straight men). I think that is natural. Even if there is no sexual interest, men will look.

Being bisexual, I enjoy looking at other men and their bodies / penises / butts, especially if they are hot. Don't want to make other men uncomfortable, but its hard not to notice a sexy naked man standing next to you in the shower.....

Men who say they don't look at all in situations like that are either consciously trying not to look, blind or quite simply lying. I don't know how common it is for guys to be naked in locker rooms in the US, but in Europe it is extremely common. It's something that happens from a very early age on for most continues for the rest of our lives. It is nothing we think about.

If you just go about doing your own business like you would normally, it's impossible not to see some penises in the locker room. So yeah, people look. It has never seemed to me that people give it a second thought, and I've never heard anyone make a comment about another guy, but of course we catch a glimpse of each other. It's not that people are consciously trying to look. It just happens.

I can see how people may be much more reserved in their locker room behavior in the US, if it's much more less common to be naked with others. That they would be more concerned with how their behavior is interpreted. But if someone can be in a locker room with 40 naked guys without seeing a penis, then he really is trying not to see a penis, which seems a little compulsive to me... I mean, who the hell cares?

Older I get the more comfortable I am with taking quick glance, and don't care who sees me. I dont flaunt at the gym and don't want any creepy stares, but have come more comfortable realizing most men are curious about other guys and like to 'size up' the competition., even it if is unconsciously.

So you thinks it's a different attitude in Europe than in the US?
Haha guys really shower wearing shorts? Please tell me that's not true, that's just weird.

If what Hatt_101 describes is a general tendency, then European and American locker rooms can't even really be compared. We use locker rooms to shower in after sporting events. If what he describes is true in general (which I doubt), then I don't really know what you guys use them for.

First im not american and thats how it is at my school a am on the varsity track and field team and i nor any of the other people on our team use showers.

ii assume most of the guy and girls, because the track team has both men and women on it, shower at home seeing as alot of them live on campus

what i use the locker room for is to keep my bag or other school stuff in there. i usually also just change into my dry fit shirt and into my long tights. i usually already have my compression shorts on so there is no need for me to get naked. and for the three years ive bee at school ive never seen a naked person in our change room

what part of this is so hard for you to believe

Sorry, I forgot you are Canadian again. D'oh!

I don't find what you're saying hard to believe. I just suspect that it's pretty specific to your school or environment. The whole unisex locker room thing and all. That it doesn't apply in general. I'm not accusing you of being untruthful at all. Sorry if it sounded that way.

yes you did sound accusatory. it is specific to my life its just how its been in every school up to now. not saying every school is like that here but in my life and all the people ive known who were at different schools and having worked at a la fitness in my area thats just how its been

its not a unisex change room im just close with the girls on the team and i know that they dont use the showers. i dont think unisex locker rooms are allowed anywhere and with how fit track girls are no guy would be focused on practice lol.
