EVERYTHING is made in China, so that comment is a bit unfair. My partner said something similar the other day, so I challenged him to find something in his house that wasn't made in China. The US does make more of it's own stuff than the UK I think, but try it.
I wasn't just talking about things being produced in general, which yes, in general China produces a whole lot of things. I think it would be accurate to say that a lot of products in many people's houses are made in China, and not at all stereotypical/racist/whatever. That being said, offhand, and maybe I live under a rock or haven't heard things, but I don't hear a lot about knock off Louis Vuitton coming out of the UK, for example *shrug*
