Christine A. Vetter, who graduated in May, will be sentenced after a presentence report is completed. The maximum sentence she could face is a fine of up to $250,000 and five years in jail and two to three years of supervised release, U.S. District Judge G. Ross Anderson Jr. said. -Free Republic

This isn't the last word. Seems that the jurisdiction is what matters more. Indecency and obscenity laws in the US are community-based to a large degree. What could get you charged in South Carolina may not cause an inspector in California to bat an eye:

"There are relatively few restrictions on what you can send through the mail. You can't send alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, and things that might be explosive. LMAO!! Dude, the whole idea behind selling someone your old underwear is to NOT wash them, first!! You're supposed to wear them for at least a couple of days to get your scent and whatever fluid stains in them, then you mail them out without washing them!!
That's what the guy or woman is paying you for. Some dudes want you to j/o in your underwear and then send it to them. Some guys are into you making sure you send them with some skid marks in them. They want your pubes in them, too.
