While the other side gives the loud and consistent FUCK YOU to the fetuses and rich people. It all balances out.

Obama's greatest strength is that he allows enough rope for his opponents to hang them selves just right. It's called strategy, people.

If you think things are "balanced out" in this country right now . . . shalom.

Republicans have no interest in helping the unemployed, just their billionaire donor.

How many of you are gamblers?
If the Democrats are smart enough to play this right when the time comes, it can be a real nuke blast at the Republicans. If it is a strategic move it can be made to work, if the Democrats fail to really brand the opposition and use what they have (which has happened many times in the past) they are just allowing this kind of behavior. The question is will they feed off of all of the deliberate roadblocks and use them or will they try and take the "high road" when they will just be laughed at as they negotiate away their ammunition. This is the biggest question . . . .

I think the Republicans blocking this bill is better than any argument Obama or any Democrat could make for a Democratic congress in 2012.

What happened to a president being a negotiator/ leader? And getting both sides to sit at the table and work together? As villified as Pelosi was, she did have the ability to 'work the aisles' and get people working together- why has such a person not emerged now? I am not saying pro or con on Obama but clearly something has to be 'done', why can't someone emerge to bring the 2 sides, if not together, then to move forward, even 5%...

I am tiring of this 'all or nothing' planning- isn't there....10% of this plan both sides can agree on? what about creating..... a parks program? technical schooling programs? anything that can show us the voters (who basically don't have the cash to be the real power granted) that can do....something?

Clueless as usual. Why don't you move to a government free country? The world has tons of them. I urge you to go. And tell us what a paradise it is.

Obama has tried, time and again, to work with Republicans, and has compromised with them to the point of seriously alienating his liberal base. After getting burned so many times, he's now adopted a more pugnacious take-it-or-leave-it approach. But either way, the Republicans have made it clear that they don't want to work with him--especially now that any improvement in the economy or employment will only help him in the 2012 elections.

It's all well and good to reach out across the aisle, but at some point the other side has to reach back.

This little game the Republicans are playing is going to backfire on them come November 2012. Obama will right back in the White House where they are trying to get him booted out of.

Obama is black. These Republicans did not want a black President to begin with, but could've lived with it if he'd been a lackey from their own party. The fact that Obama is a Democrat seals the deal. The Republiklan party will never work with him since they cannot afford to have the first black President be a Democrat and successful.

Sadly, this is not a new phenomona, and neither party has shown any ability to work with the other since the Bush Sr years. Rpes blamed Dems for"tricking Bush into raising taxes ina compromise then used it against him vs Clinton. Then they did evry thing to try and destroy Clinton. Dems did the same to Bush, and the vitriol continues today. To claim that Pelosi worked "both sides of the aisle" is a farce. Reps in Congress might as well have stayed home during her eeign, and now Dems suffer the same fate under "Boner-boy". I do agree that the Reps are killing themselves by killing this bill, no matter how idiotic it is, and how doubtful it would achieve anything. If 887 billion didnt stop the loss of jobs, how is 445 billion more going to do anything? There is nothing innovative in the spending, just the same as last time, just less money. Had the Reps been smart, they would have passed this bill, said they were doubtful of it, but willing to give Obama the chance. Then take the bet that in 13 months nothing changes, and they would be guaranteed victory.

That's the amazing thing conservatives have done. They've convinced people that facts aren't facts they're just opinions. Well it's a fact government does create jobs and it's not an opinion and it can create them without debt. And for that critical distinction you are indeed clueless.

^ Yes, and equally amazing how adept conservatives are at making Americans think that the villains in all of this is everyone but them. Given their blocking of this popular jobs bill they are apparently under the impression that none of the current protests have anything to do with their acts of obstructionism on behalf of big money and the wealthy. None of this will ever stick to them, I guess.

Which explains why in the midst of all the growing discontent it's "business as usual" for the GOP.

So what percentage of the population actually voted for either party? In the Uk I reckon you only need about 25% of people who could vote to actually vote for you and you are in. Anyone who may hate your party, or both parties, simply doesnt have any effect because votes against dont count. If 90% of amercans hate both dem and rep enough not to vote at all, who wins?
