On a musical theme today. I have the urge sometimes, (usually after a horrendously busy week), to chill out and just to listen to music of all types from all eras.

The one I woke with in my head today was The Hollies - 'Carrie-Anne'. 01 May 1967.
'Hey Carrie-Anne what's your game now, can anybody play'...

Anyone want to join in?

John.

I was a fan of Todd Rundgren when I was in high school in the 70s. One day last week I woke up with these lyrics playing in my head:

Open your eyes and see
The world I couldn't change for you
Reach out your hand and take
The world that will belong to you

and the refrain:

Worlds of tomorrow
Life without sorrow
Take it because it's yours
Sons of 1984

Hadn't heard the song in decades but it hasn't stopped playing in my head all week. The vinyl and tape I dubbed from it are as long gone as my teen years. At the time it was a major carpe diem anthem for me. Posting the song on BillM's Songs of the 70s thread on the Etcetera forum hasn't stopped it playing in my head... yet.

"Music plays, everyone's dancing. Closer and closer. Making friends and finding lovers. There you are lost in the shadows. Searching for someone to set you free from New York City. And, ah, where did all those yesterdays go? When you still believed love could really be like a Broadway show. You were the star. When did it close?"

"Let's start a war, start a nuclear war. Down at the gay bar, gay bar, gay bar."

Purely because it is the most ridiculous two sentences I have ever heard.
What about " Whyupachupachug " ? Could you translate the lyrics for this one please? :

Or just guess, and I'll believe you because I won't know any different. So will the rest of the internet.

The Doors ," When The Music's Over " - " Cancel my subscription to the Resurrection , send my credentials to the house of detention , I got some friends inside ." .... At the time , i thought that this was a brilliant line , described my attitude perfectly . Love their work .

After last nights high octane group sex session, in my mind as I awoke this morning, balls aching, but cock still producing morning wood - in my head comes the line.........
'Goodness gracious great balls of fire' - Jerry Lee Lewis, (I believe), and 'Great balls of fire'.

Isn't it wonderful, how the brain works?!
