Separation of church and state

..... Considering the fact that barely any of them believed in the same God, I find it hard to believe that Thomas Jefferson, a man who wrote his own Bible because he didn't like the original, would be one to advocate the state's support of any religion. ......

Just so everybody is clear here, Jefferson was a Deist and Deism believes in a god that created the world but never revealed itself.

And yes, he did edit his own version of the Bible but only thought the alleged Jesus (I say alleged because I don’t believe the alleged Jesus ever existed as a man or a god) was a great philosopher but he did not believe he was divine.
