Hey guys i have another question regarding sex. When I turned 40 my sexual drive started to slow down. I really dont care if I have sex anymore or not? Does anyone else have this problem? Should I tell my Dr.?

You should discuss this concern with your physician. The human body does slow down, but this does not mean that it should shut down. It is possible that your testosterone level has dropped dramatically, recently, but this only can be determined by a thorough examination. I think that you should make an appointment sooner than later.

You sound like a good candidate for a Viagra commercial. Personally, I think libidos have a shelf life. It's just nature's way of saying that your baby making days are over.

How often do you get exercise? Fitness has much to do with. Do some cardio with a little resistance training and you will be barking at the moon in no time.

Viagra won't improve you libido it'll only help you stay hard once you get excited... however, first you have to want to get excited. As you age your natural testosterone levels decline... some faster than others. Go to your doctor and have your levels checked. There are "normal" levels, however what is normal for one person may not be normal to someone else.

A few years ago I noticed my libido levels were reduced so I had my Doctor check my test levels during my annual physical. Normal levels were around 250-750 and mine came back at 1001! WTF? What were they when I was in my 20's and was ALWAYS horny? 5000? I discovered I had un-naturally high "normal" test levels and my low levels was above average... that helps explain my ability to put on muscle mass quite easily. I have tried testosterone replacement therapy and it really helped make me feel "normal" again.

Yup. I've been experiencing the same thing. I'll be 42 this month and I really couldn't give a shit about sex anymore. When I was in my 20s, it was all I could think about. Since I've turned 40, I've also noticed a shrinking appetite and weight gain. Pretty strange that I eat far less, yet put on weight and can't take it off despite exercising.

TRT (testosterone replacement therapy) changed my life when I started it in earnest about two years ago. Get yourself checked.

I was the same way in my early 30s. Then in July 2006 I went into one of those phases where I couldn't care less about sex, but instead of lasting a few days, it's now been over 3 years.

I can do nothing but echo the sentiment here of go to your doctor's and get checked. One other thing that could contribute to your situation is stress. As I'm learning, that kills libido too.

I stopped having intercourse at age 71(every 14 to 21 days)I have always masturbated at least once a day and still do. At age 30 to 60 I needed to go off several times a day.Wonder if this amount of action kept my weight to 130 pounds exactly the same as when I was 15 years old.I am a active farmer still working.

If you are fit and healthy and eat well, then your sex drive should not be adversely affected by age 40. I am 51 myself, and have just returned from a weekend away with my wife where we wore each other out (four times in three days). I do look after myself, I eat well and I am 3kg heavier than when I was 18.

I went through a period of low sex drive, and it turned out to be an illness that wreaked a certain degree of havoc. So I suggest a thorough check-up, and if that doesn't uncover anything then watch what you eat and get into the exercise. We only have one chance at life, and we really can't afford to abuse our bodies.

First, is it a problem? Keep in mind that unless you feel it is a problem, it's not a problem, sometimes you actually want to focus on other things. My only concern would be a chemical imbalance or Depression, but if those things aren't present and you enjoy the "rest" of your life then no worries.
