More great news. “A culture of ethical failure” at the US Interior Dept in the agency that collects oil & mineral royalties.

"The reports portray a dysfunctional organization that has been riddled with conflicts of interest, unprofessional behavior and a free-for-all atmosphere for much of the Bush administration’s watch."

Officials “frequently consumed alcohol at industry functions, had used cocaine and marijuana, and had sexual relationships with oil and gas company representatives.”

Isn't this exactly what happened in Iraq, with 20 year old contractors hired to do jobs because they were members of the GOP? Their marching orders were to go out and party. Shock & awe, baby, and do whatever the hell you want. You're in charge!

No wonder McCain wants a party girl as his VP.

This is not just George W. Bush in a nutshell, it's the guiding creed of a whole political party that is adolescent male resentment and stupidity run wild on steroids. Do whatever you want, and get furious whenever somebody tries to stop you. Attack anybody who gets in your way. Absolutely refuse to grow up. Force others to pay your bills.

But maybe I am wrong. Maybe it's not adolescent male resentment.

Could it be a nasty, nasty "little dick for brains syndrome"?

Republicans have routinely ignored the Department of the Interior as they prefer commercial interests to run the country's national monuments and park lands. If they're that bad, the EPA must be like Animal House.

I've worked for DOI (although not this particular agency) for years. Given the ethics training we regularly go through and the standards of conduct expected of us, its hard for me to believe this kind of behavior went unreported for as long as it did. What a disappointment.
