Re:
Why we should advocate that people just relax more and push out their babies naturally.
I'm not sure why our friend here feels that our natural inclinations to populate the earth need boosting.
If sex is so wonderful as society makes it out to be, then shouldn't there be all the more people alive to enjoy it? There should be more human penises and vaginas populating closer together naturally. But that is hardly the best reason.
There's some Utilitarian Principle thing, that says that often the best thing to do, is that which most benefits the most people. Well world population growth benefits a huge number of people, who couldn't come alive otherwise.
If there was some magic dial by which we humans could somehow "adjust" the global human reproductive urges level, wouldn't most of us, crank it up just a bit, just to make sex all the more enjoyable and to make things "interesting?" Not many would dare ease it down.
So there's just a few practical reasons why to welcome the human fertility spreading naturally into our many descendents.
The reality is that civilized and educated people do combat those urges because they respond to more than their instincts. While there are plenty of people reverting to primal behaviors and ignoring the devastating effects of overpopulation, some of us recognize that our ability to effectively and equitably distribute and use the limited resources available to us is not keeping up with our ability to populate the earth.
We need not "combat" these pro-population, pro-family urges, merely to direct them towards their proper outlet, pairing up, marriage, and natural procreation. The natural remedy for powerful reproductive urges, is of course, pregnancy. And childbirth is the natural remedy for pregnancy. Large families are great for a modern and populous world, but of course, some sensible development must be made in keeping with the human propensity to populate the planet more densely and efficiently.
In the end, perhaps sooner than some expect, our human population may well be the end of most life on the planet (we can expect roaches and many other non-human forms of life to continue). The frightening thing to many of us is that some people see that end as the coming of a "rapture" or other religious manifestation, and they actively promote it by whatever means they can.
Just like a child, the human race can't remain "little" forever, but the time to "grow up" naturally comes. As more women come to childbearing age, the babies they will yearn to have, should be welcome to come to life as well.
I'm not so sure that an enlarged world population supposedly helps along the Rapture, actually it could be the other way around, that a cessation of growth relates to decaying social mores, leading to the rapture and the rise of the Anti-Christ and the "wrap-up" of God's world endtimes.
