Sex Forums - LPSG Sister Site???

We already have a mechanism for that. It's called the report post icon.
If you see a thread that you don't consider a woman's issue report it and ask to have it moved to whichever forum you think is more appropriate. If the mods agree then it will be moved. Women do participate in all the other forums so having to designate a specific forum for males and females to ask each other questions seems redundant.

Here's the other issue.

Define a woman's issue, precisely.
Menstruation, preganancy, menopause?
Nail polish, hair & shoes?
Our perspectives and experiences on relationships and sex?
What exactly is the delineation?

Now, isn't every thread started anywhere on any forum an attempt to poll others for their opinions on whatever subject is discussed in the OP? Yes, it is. So a woman polling other women for their opinions would have to be moved out of WI to this new forum as well. Might as well get rid of the WI forum altogether then.

You can't just remove threads on womens issues just because they're started by men. A woman's issue is no less a woman's issue because a man initiated the discussion. That would be sexist discrimination.

If one simply must have an area where only women can contribute there is the Real Ladies Group and it's related forum. One of the best things about LPSG is that there are no exclusionary areas on the main board where any particular group is unwelcome to participate. I don't wish to see this change.

and i agree with the edit.. Ms. Gillette would make a wonderful Mod.. ohhh reason three returns from the void..i happen to dig Ms. Gillette fully and she's pretty darn level headed and to the point with most things related to LSPG and the world LPSG rests on.

hmm i do think the idea of Ask-a-Girl/Boy/SuperSmexyGayDude is cute. i don't really see it as segregation or kicking boys out of girl world. see deleted post for Lucy and her 5cent advice booth.. fun, friendly and without the icky feel of trespassing some threads kick up. earnest questions could get the attention they deserve, and wankery could be ignored without the usual ruffled hen clucking of "this is not a woman's issue"

umm more deleted post bits... at least the new forum would give the mods a parking place for threads when complaints are made. no more debating if women's issues is the most appropriate forum because with an alternative forum women's issues will not be a catch all for vagina related threads.

i firmly believe the womangs of lpsg need to shape the women's forum by their participation... the threads women are opening or responding to *totally realize i don't start threads here :redface:* treating the ladies like hot house flowers by not allowing the grubby boys to play is a touch insulting.. i mean the ladies are fierce.. i have seen intorwebz dick knocked into intorwebz dirt.

1. it's just a cute idea. think Lucy and her lil 5cent advice stand, no so much segregating or limiting the content of The Women's Forum.

We have different ideas of cute. Possible programming to create it - not so cute. Possibly longer page loads because of the extra link (minimal I know but more irritating on mobile) - not so cute.

2. less work for the Mods. the extra forum might not prevent dudes from making "reaffirm what porn had taught me/give me some wank fodder/misogyny disguised as humor" threads in the Women's Forum but at least Mods would have a solid destination for those threads.

If you suggest where you want a thread moved the mods already have a solid destination, no? It also doesn't make it easier for the mods because then the thread could go in either one of the forus that fit it now or this new catch-all forum. That's more decision, not less.

3. i could ask supersexygay dudes all kinds of questions. *admittedly a totally self serving reason.. but an import one to me*

You can do that now in the Sex with forum.

4. women who are interested in answering questions could chatter away. women who don't mind answering a question the first 100 times it's asked can pick and choose at random. women who are so sick of the same damn questions from the same 5 posters can avoid the section all together.

I don't understand this last point. Are you suggesting this section be exclusively for polls without discussion? I interpreted "polling for opinions" to mean asking questions. Even if it were flat polls, no discussion how is it more difficult to do this as is? besides which I can think of a single poll that didn't generate thread discussion as well.

Frankly, I think it would be a royal pain in the ass having to answer the same question about anal sex, oral sex, bottoming out or any other bloody question multiple times just because its posted asking (everybody/the opposite sex only by a man/ the same sex only by a woman) to answer. I don't want to have to read three separate threads to see all the different responses either.

What you're asking for is something that defeats the purpose of having separated the Sex with a Large Penis/ Relationships, Discrimination/ Womens Issues forums (for ease of finding appropriate topic distinction) in the first place.

i've read plenty of threads where the mod answer is "this is the best place for the thread". the thread becomes a woman's issue just for lack of a more fitting forum.
