WAIT! It ain't over yet!
Black's Law Dictionary, 9th Edition (2009) says: "animal. Any living creature other than a human being. Also termed "creature." This should have been enough, no?
But, Florida law goes on to define "animal" as "every living dumb creature". The problem, of course, is that Florida fails to define what is a "dumb creature". So, I thought it became clear, but, to add to the confusion, Tennessee includes all living creatures in their definition of a "dumb animal": "In this part, and in every law relating to or affecting animals, the words animal or dumb animal shall be held to include every living creature..." (39-3-101 Definitions of Acts 1881, ch. 169, 13; 1895, ch. 75, 2, 3; Shan., 2870; mod. Code 1932, 5104; T.C.A. (orig. ed.), 39-401.)
So...who can we fuck, if anybody or anything, in Florida?
