Years ago I took my gf on a frat weekend to Florida and to save
money we did not stay with the frat guys but chose to stay in a nearby cheap
"auto apartment" (probably a ca. 1930's one) which was similar to a motel but
had a small kitchen and sitting area. The bed was a an iron Murphy bed in the
wall behind double doors.
The first night we had a difficult time getting the lock-bar at the foot of the bed
to securely lock, but after a bit of a struggle we managed to do it.
After a long and enjoyable romp..I got up to go to the bathroom and somehow
happen to stumbled and the lock-bar came loose. It was slow motion, but my gf
folded up with the bed and in to the wall...screaming all the way. I doubled up
with laughter, but finally pulled myself together enough to get her out. To this
day every time I think of it I laugh until I cry.
A few years ago I visited her and her husband....and looked at each other and the
light of rememberance went off in our heads...and we both began to laugh. Her
husband asked what was so funny...I do not remember what, but she said something
that satisfied him. I am sure when we see each other the next time it will happen
again. Yes, Murphy beds can be fun...and dangerous if old and in need of
repair...
