Sex overdrive

I've a buddy that has trouble being in single relationships. He has an insane sex drive and has to jerk off alot of times a day...something like 8-9 times. I tried talking to him about it and he says it's just how he is.

Anyone here have a huge sex drive and figured ways to deal with it without cheating or knows someone that has and figured out how to deal with it. My friend says he really wants to settle down, but simply cannot get the sexual satisfaction he needs met by one person.

I've certainly gone thru periods in my life when I've jacked off a lot. But 8 or 9 times per day??!!

Ummm. Not really sure what advice I can give. As he gets older, his sex drive will decrease.

Well the first reaction is that it sounds funny - but a severely overactive sex drive can really prevent a person from leading a normal life and prevent him from reaching any of his potential.

The most powerful option would be the SSRI antidepressants. The ones that usually lower sex drive are: Celexa, Lexapro, Prozac, Paxil, and Zoloft.

There are also herbal treatments to DECREASE libido. The chastetree, also known as chasteberry or Vitex, is the best known one.

I find it strange though, personally I can go for days without any sexual stimulation at all, but as soon as I get some, I will need it more and more often, until I can't satisfy it often enough, or I consciously stop, then my sex drive goes down again.

You could suggest he stops jerking for a few days, after he gets over the withdrawl his drive should be lower, or that's what I find.

I still think however that if it's seriously obstructive (which 8 or 9 times a day is IMHO) he should see a doctor, as suggested above, antidepressents or something in a small dose to put a dampener on could help.

I might not be quite that bad but I have had a high sex drive all my life.
You just have to learn how to control it somewhat and not let it control you.
I have done a lot of masturbating too. I have tried to abstain at various times but I never got past a week or so. I got so horny I couldn't stand it anymore. I have never been married but I think I could stay with one woman, though. I would still masturbate in between times with her.

It will decrease with age but I did make it to 45 with little change from when I was 20. I don't mean that as a brag either. This kind of high sex drive ran in my family. My Dad had the problem when he was younger. He has passed on now and was 89 at his death. My uncle was the same way and told me he got to his mid 50's before he could tell much difference. It may take longer to decrease than one might think for some men.

As for what to do about? I have know idea other than don't let it control you so easliy. I am sure an MD could help and I did talk to one about it myself. I was afraid of the side effects of the drugs he told me about.
I deceided to just enjoy it for whatever time I have left to enjoy it.

I was a lot like your friend at 15 through 25. I used to need to fuck three or four or more people every day and jack-off as well. It got so bad at one point that I entered into porn and fucked my brains out for a couple years.
At age 25, I met someone who did not mind my oversexed nature and I began to learn how to control the beast. At 74, I have declined to the point where once a day is usually sufficient. Nature has a way of protecting her own!
