Yeah, well, you know me pretty well by now, I think, Lex.

I'm eagerly awaiting a thorough review from you  I've heard alot about that toy.

You'll probably regret saying "thorough," Alley. But with the price point category of this thing, potential buyers need to have a good picture.
OK, three days into
The Fleshlight Experience, and I think Ive learned the ropes well enough to share my thoughts.
Im betting that Im not alone here in saying that the very idea of owning a sex toy has always seemed completely outlandish to mea pointless exercise in frivolity, something like having a leather jacket or a sports car or a tattoo or something: works for some (and more power to them), but its just not me. Im a guy who doesnt own or download or even get much of a thrill from porn (so contrived and inane, IMO), so a sex toy seemed like a poor match for me.
The path that led to my purchase of the Fleshlight was certainly circuitous. It began with an evening giggling about the ridiculousness of it with one LPSG friend and then moved into getting honest and insightful information from another. Finally, I was sold by an onscreen demo from a third generous fellow member (thanks to all!
. A combination of these conversations, the LPSG serving as a whole new source of information and experience for me, and my having a bit too much disposable income made me say, What the hell? So I ordered one.
It took a little over a week to arrive, and I must admit that my level of anticipation and curiosity kept rising over that time. I think I checked the UPS package tracking site a dozen times to monitor its progress across the country, deriding myself every time for my eager interest.
After my late class Monday night, I got home to find it packaged in a plain brown box as promised by the company, without any sort of telling return address. So far, so good. My first impression was that the whole apparatus was a bit smaller than Id expected (but plenty big enough) and that the insert was entirely more soft and lifelike than Id anticipated. Shockingly so. A lot like these prosthetic breasts that mastectomy patients get (dont ask).
My first round with the Fleshlight continued the trend of surprises. I remember standing by the sink, soaking the insert in hot water to warm it, already
completely erect and thinking how silly the whole scene felt. But, you know, Id gone too far to turn back now, right? After the soft insert had a chance to get thoroughly warm (ten minutes or so), I dried it off, loaded it into the base, lubed everything up nicely, and crossed the threshold.
Wow. Just
wow. Smooth, tight, and amazingly stimulating. Breathtaking, even.
Theres a nice combination of elements at work with this tool, from the warm softness of the silicone (?) insert to the way the lubricant creates a slick sheen in all the crucial spots to the powerfully exciting ridges along the interior. Feeling each one of them gently pluck the edge of my corona with every stroke is a pretty magnificent sensation, I have to admit. Theres even this unexpected suction effect that happens after a few pumps that is
thoroughly enjoyable. Plus, you can rotate the thing around your erection, creating an ecstatic sensation thats not quite like
anything Ive ever experienced. Imagine a blow job where your partner is spinning. A fascinatingly new experience.
Want to know the biggest surprise that first round? How quickly it was over. My orgasm was
right there way before I expected. How embarrassing. :icon_redface: I even had to be careful when sliding out of the sleeve, just because of that lingering sensation of tenderness. When was the last time
that happened?
Two hours later was a different storya much longer and more satisfying session in almost every way. Plus I was more in control. Same the following morning. When I tried for a fourth round later that morning, I decided to go cold, without warming up the insert, using KY Warming Liquid instead (great stuff!
, but was disappointed. Between the cold, clammy feel and the fact that four times in around ten hours was probably pushing it for me (with no live partner, anyway), I decided to set the Fleshlight aside and finish up manually.
Trying it cold brings up another issue. This thing is
tightprobably too tight for my general tastes, particularly when not loosened up by a good soak in hot water. Now, admittedly, this might have more to do with the fact that Id pretty much exhausted my reserves in a short amount of time, but entering that cold, constricting tunnel gave me the distinct sensation of having to keep flexing to fight for space and to keep my erection. Not so fun. So from here on in, Im definitely taking the time to heat things up thoroughly beforehand.
I know that Im still in the novelty phase of
The Fleshlight Experience and that my use of the toy will diminish a bit in time, but I really feel that this fun little instrument will be a long-term part of the personal pleasure arsenallike a favorite cd to which I keep returning from time to time when the urge strikes me. Seven rounds so far (going to have to hold back a bit now
), and Im learning more about how I want to customize the experience every time. You can evidently alter the suction level by loosening the endcap a bit, so thats where Ill be focusing my attention in the days to come.
Complaints? Well, theres the fact that this hunk of plastic and rubber totals out at around fifty bucks. Plus, theres the tightness issue if you have significant girth (I know a lot of men love that, though, so this is probably just my thing; that might be a big plus for you; Im just glad I didnt buy the ultra tight one). But thats about it. For me, the Fleshlight is a complete success, like a new favorite stroke technique that Im
so glad I found.
Now, dont believe the hype on the
websitethis isnt the same as being with a partner. Much of the pleasure of sex is the shared experience, listening to your partner breathe, talking gently, looking into her eyes, enjoying her fragrance, and actively taking part in the give-and-take of making sure both persons needs are being met. This is definitely a masturbation tool and not a sex simulation. And, of course, the physical sensation is different as well, but if you think about it, that's a
good thing. Just as oral, vaginal, and manual interactions all vary so much, using the Fleshlight is a distinct but tremendously enjoyable new feeling. (You guys who have one, have you TRIED the rotating thing?
) For me, this fun little device has turned out to be
well worth the price of admission.
Your mileage may vary.
