Jonb, I love people advocating condom use and safer sex practices! It is true that oral is a far lower risk activity as long as there are no cuts on the penis or open sores in the mouth. I have also heard that saliva is actually a deterrant to the transmission of aids, I heard this from a guy working for an aids prevention clinic, so I asuume he knows what he's talking about, although I haven't researched it myself. I do know that the stomach acids neutralize the virus, so swallowing cum wouldn't be a problem as long as there were no cuts that would allow blood contact.
Unless you are in a monogamous relationship with a partner you trust, condoms are a necessity, not to be taken lightly.

Well, the failure rate for condoms is some 5%. That doesn't indicate the actual seroconversion rate, mind you, just the percentage of condoms which break. Either way, non-latex condoms reduce the risk even more simply because it can be exposed to temperatures which latex condoms melt under.

You're right about the sores: I forgot to mention that herpes patients should take some sort of suppressant.

I hate condoms, although I still use them all the time. I have had sex without but I had been with that girl for a long time, so I felt comfortable not using one. And sex without definitely feels much better. I hate when you get going, you are all over each other, tearing your clothes off, and you have to stop to get a condom on. Its a turn off. I don't use them.

Seeing as I don't fuck asses or vaginas with my cock and I'm more into oral sex and BDSM/kink I do not use condoms.

If I put a plug, dildo, or vibrator in a man's ass and fuck him with that I use a condom on that but that is very rare.

I only did use condoms for oral sex once and it seemed pointless and condoms taste nasty.

If I were going to rim someone I'd use a dental dam for that.
