Is it strange to want companionship more than sex during certain parts of your life?

    No, it is not.

I feel that it is that 'connection' which makes the sex that we have with our companions that much stronger and alive instead of lifeless and boring. I never understood those relationships where the sex was phenomenal but the communication was crappy as ever.

I believe the term is 'unevenly yoked.' Please, correct me if I am wrong everyone.

I've maybe felt the need for connection once in my life.. that is more unusual.

    Of course not!

A relationship is two people. Sex is sometimes included, sometimes there are dry spells and you can still be happy with the person you're with.
