I’ve heard that before, both in other articles and from a couple of my trans male friends. So I’m not surprised. We have to work harder, be smarter, and be tougher than men to get less respect than they do just for existing. I’d like to think the world is changing, but the older the guy, the more likely it seems he is to hold these attitudes. I hold some hope for younger guys? But I don’t know.

There is some discussion about communities of color and how sexism, homophobia, and transphobia are spoken about.

g-d give me the confidence and breaks of a middlingly competent white dude, 21-40 years of age.

I saw a TED talk by a person who transitioned from male to female... so this was interesting to hear the reverse. Good share.

And this view of sexuality seems common and well-accepted to you? The perspective of a trans person?

Confidence and breaks? How about the pressure of the assumption that you will succeed and that success is handed to you?

The victim mentality is far more damaging than the status quo reinforcing itself. Rise above it.
