Homosexuals Mock 'Last Supper' With Sex-Toys Twist

(CNSNews.com) - Organizers of San Francisco's Folsom Street Fair -- sponsored by Miller Brewing Co. -- have portrayed Christ and his disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists in the event's promotional advertisement, and the conservative group Concerned Women for America is complaining about the hypocrisy of it.

http://www.cnsnews.com/cns/photo/2007/092507Folsom.jpg"The bread and wine representing Christ's broken body and lifegiving blood are replaced with sadomasochistic sex toys in this twisted version of Da Vinci's The Last Supper," CWA said on its Web site.

"'Gay' activists disingenuously call Christians 'haters' and 'homophobes' for honoring the Bible, but then lash out in this hateful manner toward the very people they accuse," said said Matt Barber, CWA's policy director for cultural issues.

"In their version of The Last Supper, Christ, Who gave His life for our sins, is despicably replaced by sin itself as the object of worship."

CWA is calling on California politicians -- House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sens. Feinstein and Boxer among them -- to "publicly condemn this unprovoked attack against Christ and His followers.

"We further challenge the media to cover this affront to Christianity with the same vigor as recent stories about cartoon depictions of Mohammed and other items offensive to the Muslim community," CWA said.

The Folsom Street Fair describes itself as "the world's largest leather event."

"We hope to see the fairgrounds filled with people in their most outrageous leather/rubber/fetish attire enjoying the worlds largest and best loved Leather fair," the Web site says.

Concerned Women for America called it "shocking and offensive" that California taxpayers are forced to foot part of the bill for the Folsom Street Fair. The City of San Francisco sanctions the event by shutting down several city blocks and providing police for security.

The Folsom Street Fair Web site says young people are welcome: "While we don't have any age restrictions at the gates we do inform attendees of the adult oriented nature of our events." The fair organizers say beer and liquor age restrictions are strictly enforced.

    What do we think?

    We think you are tool.

This is no different than assuming that all muslims are Al-Qaida.

The photograph is very well shot, but the tableau itself isn't as accurate as I would like. That guy on the far left is really hot as is the mistress standing to his right. Love the kabuki makeup on the drag queen! Absolutely stunning!

On the whole, I wish the placement of the objects, the set, and the actors were more in keeping with da Vinci's work. The movement in The Last Supper, is simply briliant because it illustrates the exact moment when Jesus announces his pending betrayal and I think it would have made this interpretation more poignent to stay with that.

Here's the large version of the picture.

I defended the cartoons ridiculing the "prophet" Mohammed.

I defend the right of Christians to propagate their beliefs - even if that involves raving in the strete to the effect that sodomites will burn for ever in hell.

I defend this as well. I might not have chosen to do this myself - but that's not the issue.

As soon as we start to prohibit any expression of belief or opinion on the grounds that it is offensive to a section of society, no matter how numerous that section may be, then we are on the slide towards fascism. There is a particular danger in honouring the ipse dixit of religious leaders. Hasn't Warren Jeffs just been convicted as an accessory to rape? Should we have to be careful not to offend HIS followers as well? After all, they believe HE is a prophet just as sincerely as some believe in Mohammed or the divinity of Christ. It seems to me he has just as much claim to respect as any follower of them. Or the Gourd or the Shoe for that matter!

Racists, Homophobes, Islamists and the rest of them should have an unrestrained right to free speech. So should their critics.

(EDIT) - Jason, I agree with all you said as well.... especially about the guy on the left!

I think you are a disgusting troll, who never misses a chance to try to spread his disgusting homophobic agenda, and I wish you would just finally fuck off and die.

You only point out what a completely retarded fucking idiot you are if you quote, or side with, anything at all associated with CWA.

WILL YOU EVER FUCKING GIVE IT UP?

I personally think that the picture is hilarious. And people just learn to take a joke. It is taking an image, a painting, nothing more, and adapting it to make a statement, it isn't trying to be anti-religious or anti-christian. It just just something to catch people's eye, and in my opinion, make them laugh.

It's no more offensive to "mock" a painting, painted some 14 centuries after the fact, than it is to see Mary's face on a stained office window.

You can either worship a painting or a stain. Neither are real or genuine representations of anything.

    I think you're a tool also.

The photograph is an artistic interpretation of another artistic work. It has about as much to do with Christianity as a grilled cheese sandwich.

The kind of sophomoric thinking and conclusion making is what happens when we build posh football stadiums for our high schools rather than teach art and journalism.

The Folsom Street Fair is not an exclusively homosexual event. It's B&D/S&M event for people of all sexual orientations.

An atricle written by the uneducated for the uneducated to promote ignorant views on religion, art, and sexuality.

Free speech is a wonderful thing, don't like it, dont read it.

Some of it is insensitive, some of it is provocative. Some of it's banal. But it has every right to exist, just as the CWforA unfortunately do...

(Why are they CWforA and not CWofA? I don't know, I'm English, is it because there's so few of them???)

Without expression you only have repression.

The guy on the far left is gay pornstar Dean Flynn (TITANMEN.COM - XXX Gay Hardcore Photos and Video), he's sorta new I guess... haven't seen any of his movies. The drag queen you are referring to is Sister Roma (Sister Roma! :: Meet The Sisters :: The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, Inc.) from the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. The Sisters are more than just drag queens, they're a charity organization foremost and even though seem like a fraternity, they have members that are straight and/or female as well. Funny enough, The Sisters are on the list of known heretics put out by the Vatican in Rome.

People who are offended by the image should get over themselves. God doesn't care, I'm sure he's having a good laugh about it. I mean, s/he's got a great sense of humor, how else would you explain the irony of his followers killing each other over the interpretation of his word when he never wrote anything down.

Therein lies my point exactly in calling the OP a wrench, hammer, file, what-have-you...

I actually have no issue with the picture itself, I think it's funny.

What I do have an issue with is the consistantly inflamatory nature of the OP's threads and his capacity to add verbal gasoline to any subject.

OP, more than being a tool, you are an attention vampire. Are you lonely? Are you without a lady in your life? Or perhaps what you really want is a fellah'? All of your inflamatory threads seem to focus around homosexuality. Maybe you crave the feeling of a 10 X 7 schlong opening you in ways that can only be described as epic. Perhaps you pine for the rough scratch of an unshaven face against yours...

    Hmmmm?

    Maybe?

    Ya think?

    Come on now.

    Be honest.

    You want it, huh?

    It's ok to admit it.

    You'll feel good afterwards.

    I promise.

    (kissy noises)

even if you look at the orginial last supper, one can only guess why their are no women sitting at the table and why does Jesus have a young boy on his lap?

I thought it was interesting the depiction of the last supper. I thought satire was the sincerest form of flattery..oops I forgot christians dont have much for that..lol

There are no famous images of Muhammed so it would be very difficult to make any tableau of Muhammed without it being interpreted as a scene from Lawrence of Arabia.
