I just read through your 30 or so posts -- it didn't take me long because almost all of them are nasty little rants telling someone he's an idiot, passing judgement on people's sexual tastes, or condemning homosexuality. Why the fuck did you join this board? I'd be curious to know how you even found this place. You're either here to stir up shit, or you are some weird former member who's come back to get a rise out of people.

The photograph is very well shot, but the tableau itself isn't as accurate as I would like. That guy on the far left is really hot as is the mistress standing to his right. Love the kabuki makeup on the drag queen! Absolutely stunning!

On the whole, I wish the placement of the objects, the set, and the actors were more in keeping with da Vinci's work. The movement in The Last Supper, is simply briliant because it illustrates the exact moment when Jesus announces his pending betrayal and I think it would have made this interpretation more poignent to stay with that.

You know, looking at it I was thinking along the same lines-- though I was looking at the photography. I think the lighting could have been better and the post work on the image could have made it "pop" a bit more with the colors and contrast and all that.

However, I am most definitely underwhelmed by the outrage factor. I think it's funny but harmless.

Well, again, njqt, you have to consider the source. Matt Barber is delusional, and Beverly LaHaye is psychotic. If you have not yet, please please give a look at the CWA website, at the link I provided above. And look at several sections.

Also interesting is that this version of "christian" engages in lots of very odd idol-worshipping behaviors. If none of them had ever seen daVinci's work, the parody would have gone unremarked... but since daVinci painted a fresco with a depiction of the last supper, the painting itself has become a sacred relic which they worship. The bible - and I mean the actual, physical, printed book, not just the message - has also attained the same status. They treat the book as if it were bound with Christ's own foreskin or something.

I even had one of those types, one time a few years back, accuse me of blasphemy when I used the "thee, thy, thine, thou art..." type of language in a silly context. It wasn't my fault, I didn't know God had archaic English trademarked.

Even more puzzling is their brand of logic. They seem to be saying "By not believing, that homersexual is denying my right to religious freedom. By being homersexual, he is oppressing me."

Personally, I think it was a little tacky. If someone painted a picture of your mother, then someone else came along and painted a rendering of that picture that depicted your mother with a cock in her mouth...it's gonna piss you off because that's your mom they made look like a slut. The same applies here. No matter who painted it, the point is the subject of the painting. They made an S/M version of the Last Supper...how could you think that someone wouldn't get offended? There are many people, especially gays who are in the forefront, who feel as though they need to attack religion just so no one forgets where they stand and I don't think that's necessary. They were definitely going for shock value there, and they got it. This is definitely giving the Folsom St. Fair some major attention...although, I don't know how much more attention the fair needed since it already sees about 3,ooo+ people in attendance each year. Now sooo many people are going to go to the Folsom Fair this weekend that it might be the biggest turnout in years.
