I don't disagree with shaving chest hair (it's your choice), but if you do it you should be sober and prepared to put up with itchiness and ingrown hairs.

to avoid ingrown hairs you can use a trimmer rather than a razor. Also, when i want the hair off my legs and arms I use Nair and shave or trim the rest.
