If you're going to trim, I recommend trimming whatever won't be covered by your briefest article of clothing.

I recommend shaving if you've got something like crabs or for some reason your groin's always sweaty, but not for aesthetics. But it'll look nasty when growing back.

Shaved balls (80% of the time) and trim the rest to whatever I feel like at the time. Sometimes I go real short, sometimes I just "even" it out. The most I ever trimmed was shave all but a small racing strip up top. Always wanted to wax it all off, but I don't think I could handle the pain of having my balls waxed.

I keep my balls shaved smooth and the rest trimmed so that its the same length as the rest of the hair on my stomach and chest. Uniform level of fuzziness all the way down. When that hair gets very long and shaggy it starts getting in the way, caught in zippers.
