I agree the steam room is not the place. It's sink only for me and then only the face, not body grooming (that I do less frequently anyway and is a more delicate procedure...).I personally don't like people doing personal grooming on the steam room. Shaving, cutting nails, etc. I would prefer they use the sink area and find it off putting.
I shave naked because it is funHad a mate move in with me when I bought my first home. Just the one bathroom and we worked at the same place with similar hours. As we'd been to gyms and saunas together, nudity wasn't an issue. I'd shower while he shaved etc. or if one of us needed to pee and the other is having a bath, we just did it. No big deal. Sometimes we just stayed naked at home on hot summer days - it was really nice. If I ever needed a flatmate again, I'd make sure they were cool with nudity at home together.
That was me in college and the Army.
I grew up similar. When my dad was showing me how to shave it was after a shower and both of us were naked. I remember sharing the sink to shave with my dad next to me and I would have morning wood also. Not sure why more guys don't shave this way. I've done it forever---learned it from my dad who did it that way as well. Growing up we often often shared the bathroom together...and as was mentioned by another poster, we had a lot of interesting conversations while shaving. That was also the way we did it in college---it was just a lot easier to not worry about clothes and towels. And, again, guys seemed to be more open---and the conversations flowed freely. I still see it sometimes at the gym...but most guys now seem to think that it is just odd.

I shave in the shower at the gym unless there are guys waiting. Then I stand at the sink naked and do it before showering. At the Y, I user to shave in the shower. Fully naked and in front of others. I think shaving in the shower is the best.
Lucky that way my step brother and I were together but our sister lived with her mom and step dad. I can remember my bro and I going together to this overpass just so we can piss off the overpass onto oncoming traffic.Amazing the different lifestyle choices among family units.
I cannot imagine such a scenario with my dad nor even with my siblings (all of whom were also male).
I do it after showering and use the towel to whipe my face afterwards. The towel is on the counter.I shave in the shower at the gym unless there are guys waiting. Then I stand at the sink naked and do it before showering.
I don't think we were ever that busy. After I showered, I would go to the sinks and check if I missed anything, but I did that with a towel on.I shave in the shower at the gym unless there are guys waiting. Then I stand at the sink naked and do it before showering.
I've done that !
I had done that too, dad and I standing side by side at the sink, nude, and shaving. It's part of an "air drying" routine.I grew up similar. I guess it just seemed "normal" to me. My dad was ex-Navy---so that probably explained a lot of his attitudes after having lived in the communal set-ups on ships. And my mother was a nurse, whose view of the body was very clinical. So, we really didn't grow up with a whole lot of angst regarding our bodies. We weren't nudists, by any means. But it just worked out that the guys all shared one bathroom, and the gals another...so the same-sex nudity was no big deal.Amazing the different lifestyle choices among family units.

Exactly how it was in my house.I guess it just seemed "normal" to me. My dad was ex-Navy---so that probably explained a lot of his attitudes after having lived in the communal set-ups on ships.
