That's awesome. I grew up shaving nude with my dad, and my grandpa when I stayed over at his house. Great memories from those times.

I've told the story here about the first time I shaved at the YMCA and wore boxer shorts to the sink area only to find all the men shaving nude ! That was the last time I did that (shaving in boxer shorts).

Exactly! A guy in locker room might have an erection in the showers. No big deal. It happens especially with young horny me After a strenuous workout that has the testosterone pumping. Just go about your business and try not to worry about it. I think the reason this thread has gotten so many responses is that it is normal for guys (or it should be) to shave naked whether at home or in the locker room. Just because one young guy got majorly upset that he had to take a shower after gym class is no reason to change the normal behavior of all guys in the locker room. Guys just being guys and developing a bond as bros.

I went to college when open shorts were the norm. In the dorm, all the guys shaved naked at the sinks. No hang ups at all. Shaving naked at the sink continued after college at the gym I went to. No big deal as we were all running around naked whether you were in the sauna or showers. My sons and I shave naked at the sink while getting ready in the mornings. No big deal. I want my sons not to feel ashamed to be naked when around other men. Today’s young guys at my gym would freak out and run if they saw a guy naked while changing clothes let alone shaving at a sink. Go figure.

Did this while staying at a hostel (One80 I think) in Germany. I traveled with a small quick drying towel so it didn't take up much space, but it barely wrapped around my waist, so I would just throw it over my shoulder after a shower. I always shave naked at the gym - gives me the opportunity to air dry before getting dressed. Only seems logical, but for some, it catches them off guard. It is intriguing, though, that some guys will take the sink next to me for their grooming needs (whatever they may be) when there is an entire row of open sinks. I find it best to acknowledge their presence with a nod or a 'hey'. I think if they're taking the sink next to me they're likely looking for some form of interaction. Who knows.....
