Andrea: erm ....
I shave completely down there.
I actually thought it was pretty much common practice these days.

Tender: uh, no its not common practice,
its just personal preference.
i shave the bikini line, and trim some,
but thats it.
it just looks too...
well, wierd, to shave it all clean, IMO.

prepstudinsc: I think that when it's shaved completely clean it looks kind of childlike....it may be fine if you're into pedophilia fantasies, but for those of us, like me, who like other adults, I prefer things just trimmed up.

Andrea: Well my husband prefers me to clean shave and I think it inappropriate to imply he is a paedophile. Why is it so different to shaving the arm pits or removing unwanted facial hair?

prepstudinsc: Andrea-
I can't really explain it, I think arm pit shaving is a matter of hygiene, but shaving below, I don't know....it just looks so "little girl-ish" if a woman is clean. I think guys who are clean shaven, too, look like little boys. I was just stating my preference for some hair, not a lot, but not smooth. Nothing wrong with individual likes/dislikes. That's what makes us all unique.

Andrea: Then we are agreed to disagree.
I would find it hard not to shave now - sort of a routine.

da_blissmachine: does anyone else like the feeling of shaved skin against blankets/sheets/pillows? I think it's so comforting

Andrea: Just occured to me shaving cannot be considered a hygiene issue. Many men don't shave at all but are still clean and healthy.
Body hair on women is natural and really shouldn't be considered ugly. Unfortunately it is and I conform to the norm as do most women. A shame I suppose but true.
I find all kinds of men attractive - hair or no hair. Swimmers shave their bodies and are very attractive but so are "seasoned" bearded types too (Sean Connery).

A woman who actually holds that view? Now I am surprised, I thought, that as a guy, I was some sort of freak for a moment! :D

Hair's alright IMHO. gives me something to lick, and isn't really bad unless "out of control". Well, except for muffs I think. ;)

Okay, I know that sounds disgusting, just saying as it is.

rainfletcher: I personally prefer my girlfriend either shaved or trimmed close, for a couple of reasons:

* I love the way she looks, and when she's shaved I can see everything. It's the most beautiful rose, to me.

* Oral sex is more satifsfyin for me. I can feel her skin in my lips and with my tonuge with no distractions....just her skin. BEAUTIFUL.

It's not a huge deal, to be honest, but just a mild preference.

Andrea: Huh?
Intuitively I would guess women tend not to mind how hairy a man is.
Surely most men prefer a woman with little or no body hair?

rainfletcher: I suppose I agree, Andrea. I've had girlfriends who had substantial hair on their body, and it was a mild annoyance, but not enough (by itself) to make me want to break up.

With one exception. It was funny, too, 'cause it was a great girl. But we went to breakfast one day, and she as wearing this really cute sun dress that dipped just enough in the front. As any man would, I cast my gaze to the bit of flesh showing between the top of her breasts....and there, but to my dismay, was a long black hair. At first, I thought it must have just fallen out of her head, but the more I looked (trying so very hard not to be obvious), the more it looked attached.

The obvious thought at this point was, well, if that's the hair I can see, what else is there that I CAN'T see?

That was the last date....:)

So, now, my girlfriend has little to no hair. She goes days or weeks without shaving her legs, and I just laugh. There are maybe 4 or 5 hairs on each leg, and they're so fine that you almost need a microscope to see them. No stubble, nothing to itch me at night.

I've never met a girl who was like this, but this is very much to my liking....

Andrea: I hear you Tender.
(Was that a convincing American English statement?)

As I said, it's wrong female body hair is considered ugly. It is after all, natural. Alas, it is considered ugly and we women put ourselves through hell to meet convention - and the cold drooling stares of men.

(I shave from the neck down.)
