trim down the hair as close to the skin as possible, get in to a hot shower, and with a new multiblade razor (the more blades the better) and shave gel, shave away. since its your first time shaving, definately shave with the grain and not against. Its not as bad/scary as you think. Take your time, and enjoy the results

no... do not use an electric one unless you want your sack and cock chewed up. Use something like the Gillette Mach 3

Like the other posted have said, trim first and then take a shower and once in the shower for a while, you can shave. I would HIGHLY suggest using a Shick Intuition Razor, they seem to be the best for the situation. I have yet to find anything better.

    To TROYBOY123,

Alright!. Take it from someone who's been shaving 'there' for years.
1: If you've got a Bath, shave while your having a bath.
2: Always wet shave, with a manual Razor.
3: Use a fresh Blade, make sure you keep the blade free from
    clogging-up.
    4: Dont shave too closely.
5: Whenever, whatever I shave. I find using the lather from a
bar of soap gives me a far better shave than 'shaving gels'
    etc.
6: Relax and take your time. If you can get a hard-on when
you shave, it makes things easier.
    7: After the shave.
A: Always soap and wash anywhere you have just shaved.
B: Dont shave too often, I shave about once a week.
C: You need some hair growth in order to get a good shave.
D: You'll probably experience a bit of irritation. And some localised inflamation, which occurs when the stubble starts growing. Just soap well around those areas.
E: The biggest 'pain' about shaving around your genitals are 'ingrowing hairs'. Try not to shave too closely. And this will be only an occassional problem. The difference between localised inflamation and 'ingrowing hair'. The inflamation will dissappear after a day or two. An 'ingrowing hair' will become more inflammed and a bigger irritant. And you might need to ease the hair out.
F: Dont use a moisturiser after shaving. I find that causes more problems.

If I have'nt put you off?. Let me know if you liked my advice!?!.
