I have been trying to start playing basketball again, and i have terrible shin splints or splits or w/e the word realy is. Does anybody know how to get rid of them or help with them or anything?

I had them about 3 years ago - very very painful. The doc told me my trainer soles were not thick enough and that was what caused them. A week of rest from exercise soon cured the problem.

I've learned to ignore them. It helps to ice, use an elastic stretching band and look up stretches for them, and walk about 50 yards on your toes then 50 yards on your heels before every work out.
