My husband and I went to Muscle Shoals, Alabama a number of years ago. We visited with the very old studio musician who lives near the Tennessee line. He had a full fledged moonshine still behind his barn in this little tin shack! I swear it looked like a museum piece or a movie prop it was just so genuine looking!
I did have a taste, and believe me, I can taste it to this day! I am not a shine gal by no stretch of the imagination!
I remember what the old fellow told Cap, too. He said "this is the good stuff I made with sugar. This other stuff I make with corn is for selling. The good stuff is for family."
To me it tasted like kerosene, not that I would know how that tastes, but I can only imagine.
I wonder how legal moonshine would taste?
