Well naughty, shoes like love has been a rollercoaster ride. Shoes that I have loved and lost, because they are no longer made are...
David & Joan
Jimmy Choo (Mens)
But the old standbys have been...
Gucci
Ralph Lauren
To Boot New York
Walter Steiger
Fratelli Rossetti
Barney's New York Private Label
I am currently enjoying a fling with Manolo Blahnik.
And my Frye boots and K-Swiss tennis shoes, Sperry Top Sider's and Dansko clogs are always replaced on an as need basis.
I have dilly dallied with other shoes but we just were not meant for each other for various reasons. I just don't have Prada feet and Robert Clergerie's just don't cut it for what they cost.
Truth be told my rubber slippers by havaianas are my favorite footwear, I have them in 15 different colors.

Thanks for this D! You know I just wanted an excuse to talk about my favorites! LOL! I am a an oxford pump fiend by the way
Robert Clergerie- I loved his shoes in the 80's but I agree that now they are not worth the effort.
Juan Jose Garcia- Love love love from the late 1980's
Joan and David - wonderful fit I love their oxfords. I also like Joan Halperens which are Joan's own shoe line.
Walter Steiger - Nice fit
Chie Mihara- Shoe love!
Ralph Lauren- oxfords and maryjanes
Remix Vintage shoes- great for 40's platforms and oxfords from the 30's
Kenneth Cole- Great oxfords
Tracey Neuls- exquisite
Fluevogs - Buck wild
Cydwoq- Wonderful shapes
Vialis- Great shapes
Sanita and Ugglebo for clogs
Jeffrey Campbell- Colorful!
Trippen- great shapes, baby bottom soft.
Giraudon- I live in their sport Mary Janes
Coclico- boots and shoes

This is now making me want to see what other people consider their favorite designer or even that one unique pair that they love and treat reverently.

Really love my grey suede Kudenberg bumpers. I also have a pair of Bama shoes that I bought in a little shoe shop off Covent Garden to wear on my wedding day. They were terribly expensive but... So nice!

At the other more minimal extreme, I like flip flops and simple sandals. I once had a pair of sandals made for me by a nice Indian man in Camden High St. I think the shop was called Gohil's. He measured my feet and I picked up the sandals the following week. Just a strap across the instep and another over the big toe, and a nice foot shaped sole. All in good quality brown leather with a rubber sole. I walked an enormous number of miles in those sandals and when I wore them out I got him to make me another pair. I'd have gone back for yet another pair but I was doing less walking and more sailing so I was wearing deck shoes most of the time.

Oh what a great story! Cydwoqs are handmade by a man in California . I have to confess though that I have sometimes been so Chie Mihara mad that i have actually harassed some of our UK boyz to have UK stores send the shoes to them first and then they sent them on to me. Catchoftheday and Eddyabs can attest to this! LOL!

Glad you liked it Naughty. I think this is going to sound terribly pedestrian (sorry about that :biggrin1:) but, the last pair of shoes I bought were Crocs. I know, I know; you either love em or hate em... But I have discovered that they are brilliant deck shoes. They protect your toes from being stubbed on deck fittings, and when they get wet they dry again in no time. Should have been invented years ago. The only down side is that they're a bit slippy if the soles are worn smooth.

Well, see that is probably the right use for them. They have gotten a bad name here because they have been leading to accidents and slippage. They are cute though. I tend to like the feeling of hard wood against my foot though so I lean more towards the traditional scandinavian clog. i do want some goose nosed Welsh ones though. Made like mary janes and in red! LOL! I have been talking to a clog maker in the UK already about them. I also want some clog boots. I have had a clog habit since high school and I dont want to say how long that has been. :biggrin1:

When i reached 300 pairs, I thought that I might have a slight problem. So my solution is now when I buy a pair, I give one away. Doesnt make me feel as guilty.

OMG Clogs! They became fashionable in the UK back in the early '70s. (With bell bottom trousers :biggrin1:) I think those Dr Scholls wooden soled sandals started the craze. I bought a pair of clogs with brown leather uppers. I fell off my Honda 250 on the way home from the pub (I know I should have been wearing motorcycle boots, but hell, I was young... and an idiot.) It was pitch dark on a country lane. I managed to drag my bike out of the ditch but I couldn't find one of my clogs and had to ride the rest of the way home changing gear with my bare toes. I never bought another pair of clogs, but I am partial to a good pair of motorcycle boots now. I have a lovely pair by Hein Gericke

Perfect shoes...Let me see if I can state this briefly.
Shoes are totems of Disembodied Lust. They are candy for the eyes, poetry for the feet and the icing for your soul. They stand for everything you have ever wanted: glamour, success, a rapierlike wit, a date with the Sex God (ess) of your choice. Shoes hint that attaining these things are as easy as slipping them on your feet. They have a magic power to make you into something else.
People who understand shoes know all of this. They know that a life without the perfect footwear is a dull, shoddy expanse of gray days and fitful, sleepless nights. They know that the perfect shoes will give them the strength they need in life to go out and do what needs to be done.

Hope that helps!

You poor deluded fool. Are you off your meds again? Disembodied lust, my ass!

Oh naughty, I completely forgot about Charles Jourdan; When he had his store in Trump Tower in the 80's I was once spotted leaving with 20 boxes of shoes. They knew how to throw a shoe sale. Maybe that's why he is no longer around.

I don't think so, but if you look closely, I could be seen doing this dance leaving Trump Tower or BG after a great sale!
