Luckily in Australia & NZ where shorts are the national uniform for guys, short ones are alive and well in the form of football (rugby & AFL) shorts. Football shorts are very popular with guys, as are short gym shorts. Cheap and comfortable, and can be worn just about anywhere. While long shorts made their appearance here, we don't have the hang ups of elsewhere. After all, the Speedo was an Aussie invention. Unfortunately though, the khaki shorts that tradies wear did become longer because of skin cancer fears, but I hear that there are moves to shorten them again.

I was watching the Irish hurling match at Fenway (Boston) and they players had some awesome short shorts on....the team that work white was my favorite (lots of jock strap sightings). I recorded the game so I could stop the action when there was a great shot of a nice tight ass on the screen.

Seems this is a global thought.... One of my friends keeps bringing up the same topic, over and over.. I hate to say, these shorts are not coming back anymore.

I remember seeing my older cousins wearing shorts and their boxers would peek or hang out the legs of the shorts some times when lifting weights on the bench press sometimes you would see a dick or a ball hanging out

I disagree about things "not coming back." The current trend is getting shorter and more snug than previously... You never know when the pendulum will swing the other way...

When I'm not at work, I live in athletic clothes. I love gym shorts, but don't like it when they are too long. I just bought 4 new pair of Champion mesh shorts with pockets and promptly brought them to the tailor across the street. For a nominal fee, he shortens them by 3 inches to a reasonable 6" inseam.

If the clothing manufacturers continue to make their shorts too long, I'll have them shortened. It's worth the $ to have the shorts fit more comfortably.

A&F and Chubbies have great shorts with 5 and 6" inseams. Since I'm not 6' tall, I prefer the shorter shorts to show a bit more leg.
