Just saw "Shortbus" today. It's getting fairly good reviews in limited release but I'm not really sure if I liked it.

All that aside, there are several men who could belong to this group--maybe some of them already do :wink: --most notably, Paul Dawson, who displays his considerable gift on several occasions, especially the opening sequence.

There are others including Jay Brannan (Ceth) and a tatooed man whose name I don't know who are also noteworthy.

I just saw it today. I was surprised how much I enjoyed the movie. Definitely a lot more sex than you see with the average movie. And a lot more erections on the screen. I was expecting it to been seedy and just porn, but was very pleased.

The movie does grab you and you kinda get involved with the characters and their issues. There was a lot of laughter at the awkwardness of some of the situations and dialog.

As for the actors…. Some excellent examples of huge erections for all to enjoy. I agree with quark, Paul Dawson… got a lot of talent to share.

Interested to hear what you all think of the movie.

I saw the movie last week at an art house theatre across the street from a college. I mention this because it's release is so limited that it's going to be difficult to find for anyone not in a large metropolitan area like I am.

Anyway, I loved the movie; my straight female friend did as well. We, along with a few others in the theatre, applauded at the end. It takes a very interesting view at the lives of very different people all brought together by their common problems that revolve around sex/intimacy. It's made by John Cameron Mitchell who previously made Hedwig and the Angry Inch.

It is a non-rated movie because it would most certainly earn an X rating (way beyond what even qualifies for NC-17). This movie has full pentration scenes and at least two ejaculations that I can remember. The first when a character named James cums in his mouth after auto-fellatio and the second is a huge cum shot over his head and onto the wall by a young guy in an S&M situation. Big cocks abound.

This movie fulfilled a wish that I have always had -- a regular theatrical film with real sex scenes mixed in. (It's beyond a porn with a more involved storyline.) The view into the characters' lives was very interesting and I highly recommend the film to everyone -- gay and straight. Speaking of which, while there are gays characters, they never do more than kiss or have a solo scene. The sex scenes are always male-female.

Congrats to the director for having the balls to do a movie like this. Unfortunately, since I live in a small town, the only way I will be able to see it will be order when it comes on dvd.

Oh my God, you are so right! There is that all-male 3-way. It must be that man-on-man action is so commonplace for me, that it didn't leave a lasting impression. The scene was hilarious with the Star Spangled Banner playing. If my memory serves me though, we didn't see any actual fellatio or intercourse between the men. Right?

And I also agree with you BlueSurf that the ending was a bit ambiguous, but it worked for the film. A great film that all should see.

If my memory serves, there was definitely fellatio in the 3-way as well as in the club scenes (and probably some m/m intercourse at the club as well). I found myself paying more attention to the actors in the scene rather than the sex.

I just came home from seeing it. I had to go right into the city as it is only showing in 3 cinemas here in Sydney...But it was well worth the effort.

I Loved hearing the gasps and shock of the audience especially when James cum in his own mouth (loved that). Also the 'switch' in the 3 way between the guys. My only disappointment is i thought they could have made a bigger deal when Sophia finally did have her big "O" and that her husband could have given her a orgasm too. It did lag a little towards the middle but finished on a good note

Also i was thinking of getting a vibrating egg myself but the movie has made me re-think that idea now

I saw the movie a couple weekends ago here in the USA, and my feelings were a lot like Lee's....worth seeing and more optomistic than I was expecting. I too thought the ending was a bit frantic, but otherwise enjoyed the experience and identified positively w the characters.

Here is the official website which lists cities and theatres and I believe there may even be a locator by zip codes.....and it can't be too long before this goes to DVDs.

I went to George st Greater union where they were/are showing pre-screenings, not sure if they are still showing or if the other 2 cinemas are showing them too

PJ DeBoy played Jamie in the movie. While cute, the man I'm thinking of with the tattoos was with a woman in the club and they ended up with the therapist at the end of the movie. If he was listed, I missed his name in the credits.

The five main male characters are all at least "above average" in the dick department. (They all seem to be cut, too, for those of you that care about these things.) A lot has already been said about James (Paul Dawson) who does a brief auto-fellatio and then cums in his own mouth. He is naked at least half the film. PJ DeBoy, who play his boyfriend Jamie, is also a real hottie. They have a hilarious threesome with a gorgeous twink called Ceth (Jay Brannan). There's also Sofia's husband, Rob (Raphael Barker as a very unconvincing straight man) and the "trust fund muppet", Jesse, who shoots an enormous load onto the wall after being tied up and spanked.
There's also heaps of "sextras" in the club scenes but the shots of them tend to focus on the women. If you thought 9 Songs was where porn and "mainstream" meet back on the other side, it's only because you haven't seen Shortbus.
One thing that occurred to me was where they got the actors from. The fact that they're having real sex on screen, have big dicks and (excuse the stereotype) a lot of them have tats, made me wonder how many of them are from the porn world. On the other hand, they're all decent actors which would count against that theory.
I, too, have looked for screenshots with no avail. Perhaps alex8 will be able to help us out in due course.

WOW!! Great movie. The perfect blending of everything I want from the different kinds of movies I like. I'll need to see this movie again, the next time I won't be going commando; my appreciation for the movie was simply too obvious, to my friends and the people in the row behind us, I had to make a major adjustment; the keys, in my left pocket, caused much discomfort.
