That's one of the reason that I like gym shorts more than dress shorts. I can find gym shorts with a reasonable 7" inseam. I have nice legs from cycling and like to show off my hard work.

There is a tailor across the street. I've taken new shorts to him to have them shortened many times. If they cover my knee, they're too long. Even 3" - 4" makes a difference, and it's worth the $7.

I saw an older guy today in shorts that looked like old "Boy Scout" shorts. I mean, really short, khaki colored. Looked like something the old scout master wore. Good looking, actually.
