Well, whaddya think? this being the millenium, and all it's liberalness towards things allowed to be said on TV, I just thought I'd I'd ask who thought it'd be an idea to petition Universal Pictures.

As always, all replies are welcome.

They should have Never edited it in the first place. Its a 70s Movie, and a GOOD movie at that.

Smokey and the Bandit was my all time favorite movie, and STILL to this DAY rocks People of all ages.

    NO REMAKES

I do NOT WANT them to take the Last FEW remaining 77 and 78 Trans Am's and do a Demo Derby with them, just so some boob flick watching Twit can get his jollies, meanwhile theyre ruining GOOD TransAm's.
(See the new dukes of hazzard boob flick - FLOP)

Theyre hard to find now, Dont make it impossible.

There's the theory that there are no typewritters in hollywood,
    only photo copiers.

This explains half of the movies that came out lat year.
It also explains why half of the movies that came out last
    year were total crap!!!

I must have quoted the broadcast network version.

Now that was accurate. The EFBC version was, "There's no way, no way that you could come from my genes."

Kink, I really wasn't asking if Smokey & the Bandit should be remade(God, NO!!Please!! Heaven forbid). But Iwould like to knowif any one thought the original screen version should re-edited for broadcasting.

    Here's why:

90% of the profanity used in Bandit is considered nowadays tame and if not really not unheard of. With the exception of the word "shit", nearly all of them are heard of in more times than I can count.
So that's really my quiery; to get Universal Pictures re-release another edited version of the orignal 1977 version.

Well, this is a bit long time overdue, and far be it for me to resurrect it Seven years later,
But it appears that I got my wish; on AMC channel just the other night, with the exception of the words, "shit", and some of Jackie Gleason's clever euphemisms,, everything else seems to be intact, virtually no editing. I love it!
