I agreed it still a public place for all to enjoy and if any man feel comfortable been nude around other guys his prefer. No one should be subject to luring behavior. Look if you want to not to lure over. Workout, shower, dry off, put on your clothes and leave in a good time. Don't hang around the locker room delaying to get your clothes on.

Liter note, I have seen huge guy who spend alot of time walking around nude talking to other guys with their towel over their shower. Guess showing off their huge manhood.

Isn't it interesting that sex between men is so alluring and natural that only the strictest rules of society keep it repressed underground.

I don't go to gyms, but I know that male homosexuality is still very taboo in society. Gay gyms are much more tolerant, I would imagine.:biggrin1:

You can only expect men to check out other men if they are all running naked in the locker room. Actual sex is not acceptable in any public place, but flirting is going to happen.

How do you repress a boner underground?

But, if the reason for this edict is as the OP suggests -- to discourage gay or bi activity -- I can't imagine wrapping a towel around any horny guy looking to engage in sexual activity at the gym is going to do much to stop him.

indeed -- probably has more to do with aesthetics

Aren't you righteous---sounds like you are uptight about sex in general, going so far as to use the word "disgusting" in this topic.

I think uptight, self-righteous gay guys are "disgusting".

I think people who do this in gym locker rooms, not bathhouse locker rooms, are really being jerks. It is *highly* inappropriate and disgusting. Do it at home. Do it in a bath house or a "gym" that is really a bath house. Don't do it in a real locker room. I belong to a Lifetime gym as well and they have that rule for the steam room but nowhere else. It must be a case-by-case thing. I've never seen anything like that going down, but if I did I'd probably tell them to take it elsewhere.

Umm, no...I just have a proper sense of boundaries. Having sex in places where others who have no expectation of running into that can see is a big lack of respect for other people. That's why it's perfectly fine in a bathhouse style locker room but not in a regular one. Along with the men in said locker room you will have kids walking around too. I'm not uptight about sex at all. I am uptight about people having zero respect for other people.

In the world we live in, when I'm being labelled "gay", I'm being put in the same boat as the people who have sex at the gym, in random bathrooms and shit like that. That's embarrassing and shameful, to me.

And I say to you with all respect, you are responsible for no other gay man's behavior besides your own.

I get what you're saying, but don't allow yourself to be affected by the prejudices of others. Obviously, not all gay men are stereotypical.

It's all a part of having a healthy self-esteem.

I don't believe that gay/bi "activities" should be allowed in the public lockerrooms or rest rooms. They aren't EVEN places for hetero "activities". How do you even know that you aren't being recorded? People have access to capable technology easier. You could be recorded and put on some website for all you know.

My guess is that it is the typical liberal mindset that the majority of society should concede to the unjust desires of the minority that would suggest or condone such behavior that that the majority of men or women would not condone nor welcome.

Meh, I'm not really sure where I'm going with this, PUI I suppose. As others have posted, act in a decent maner with respect to your surroundings. When in Rome... However, if you're not in Rome, don't act like a Roman.

Of course they're not - that's a pointless thing to say. Hetero "activities" as you describe them are clearly impossible in a locker room environment because the sexes are separated. But put a lot of naked men together in one room with sweat and hightened pulses, and they're going to start looking at each other. And there's not a damn thing you or anybody else can do about it. It's the nature of the beast.

Well, it's for exactly that reason that most gyms now ban the use of cellphones (which usually have cameras nowadays) either in the locker room or on the floors. Not that it will stop someone if they'e determined. But take that to its logical end and you could be being recorded anywhere you go. How paranoid are you willing to be? Are you going to start wearing a burqa so no-one will ever see you naked?

No sexual activity should be taking place in the locker room gay, str8 or bi. Like others have said it belongs somewhere else like a bathhouse.

Your thread title and your actual post are two different things. So I shall address them separately.

Should gay / bi activities be allowed in gym locker rooms?

Hell Fucking NO!!

The gym I go to (Lifetime) seems to discourage nudity in the locker room and recenly had an announcement encouraging male members to wear towels at the sinks when shaving and in the steamroom and sauna. I suspect this is to discourage any gay or bi activity from going on in the locker rooms, activities I see nothing wrong with this as long it is between consenting adults.
The way you wrote what they said, to me sounds like a hygeine and health issue not a sex issue.

Think about it this way, if you are at the sink, nude leaning against the counter to get close to the mirror whilst shaping up your goatee, there is a very good chance your penis and scrotum will be resting on the sink/counter area. Regardless of the fact you just washed in the shower, what if the next person to stand there puts their toothbrush down or drops a contact lense. That's just nasty.

Many parents bring their children to the gym. IMO children should not be exposed to straight sex in a locker room or sauna. Never mind gay/bi sex. No parent should have to explain to a 10 year old why those two men are stroking each others cocks in the locker room. :duh:

Consenting adults should take their horny butts to a motel or back to their home. :irked:

OK, thank you. I was waiting for someone to notice/address this. No, sexual activities should not be allowed in a gym locker room. If you're that horny; go to a bath house.

As for the towels; I am sure it's a hygiene issue more than anything. If wearing a towel bothers you, wear underwear or shorts.

I've got no problem with anyone being nude in a locker room. That's what they're for, showering and changing. However, if someone wants to engage in any kind of sexual activity, they should take it elsewhere. I probably wouldn't be offended to see people getting up to anything, but that's not the point; other people could be. There are places where sexual activity is appropriate, such as behind closed doors, or in a sauna or bathouse etc, where it's generally expected, and that's why people go there. A locker room which is open to the general public is not the right place to get it on. Make eye contact and flirt discretely by all means, but if you want to go further, get a room.

Towels shouldn't be required but sexual acts shouldn't be allowed. People should go to a bath house, not a gym, if that's what they're looking for.

truer words were never said.
never heard of a gym requesting guys to cover up in the locker room. there must be some really really shy guys at that establishment.
