If you don't have the willpower then why even bother asking? You aren't going to achieve your goals unless you are determined and work hard. And yes, you can definitely achieve your goals, but not without the willpower to do so.
i guess i have to change my mindset before doing this change

thanks though :)

There are three body types; endomorph, ectomorph, mesomorph. You sound like an ectomorph. You will have a more difficult time gaining weight and muscle. You would be well served to work with a professional nutritionist or dietician, as well as your physician to set reasonable and achievable goals. You should always check with your PCP before beginning a new workout regimen to ensure that you are in good health with no underlying issues.
If you join a gym hire a trainer. Don’t hire the first guy you meet or who has large biceps. Find a trained, certified and qualified professional. Don’t skimp. Don’t cheap out. Don’t cut corners. Secondly, interview them and check for compatibility. There has to be a connection. Finally, make sure you’re both on the same page. I hired a great and qualified trainer but he was so used to training guys who were young and wanted to be the next Mr Universe he couldn’t tone it down for a 50 year old, with lots of back and knee issues, who just wanted to be in reasonable shape. Great guy but we had different goals.
No one can do the work for you. No one can put the desire in your heart. If you do hire a trainer, respect his time. Be there and commit. After about a month of working out you won’t miss a session for anything.

First of all, why are you so skinny? Is there a medical reason that you are a skeleton with skin?
Second of all--I used to see a guy in our college gym who was like you describe yourself. (but I think he may have had a medical problem).
Yes, he was abnormally thin. And regardless of what he looked like, he had my respect for being there and working hard day after day.
Third of all, who the hell's business is it to give a damn about whether you look ridiculous? No one but you, dammit.

I also would suggest a trainer, since it will help guide you as well as motivate you. You might also consider some home workout equipment that might boost your confidence before you go.

Don’t hesitate to share with a trainer what you shared with us. He won’t judge you and will admire that you have a goal. The work towards it and celebrate the minor changes as they come, Good luck !!

This. Make sure that bony is your normal healthy physique and not the result of something else.

If you're just naturally thin and bony, then trying to become bulky could actually be unhealthy. What you want is to be fit and healthy at your natural physique.

You should definitely go. Developing a fitness routine even if it's not very rigorous is the best thing you can do for your health. I'm also super lean and even though I don't have the energy to do weights to the extreme (and eat truckloads of food every day, the real obstacle) to build muscle it's still worth it for the general health benefits

It's definitely worth it, motivation might be hard but when you start noticing changes that becomes the motivation in itself then after a while it just becomes normal and you feel strange if you haven't been. You don't have to be massively ripped to feel good from it, woman usually say they aren't interested in muscles but from my experience that is total horseshit, even if they don't go for muscle guys they are attracted to guys with a good frame and bigger shoulders etc.
Being skinny has one big advantage in that you will see any gains you make quickly as they aren't hidden under much fat. Some people say skinny guys can't get big, but again I totally disagree, I have a mate who was stick thin, never got any girls then started going to the gym, he is ripped now and as soon as he started he started getting girls. i guess it's down to him looking good but then also some aspect of him being confident from it.
Apart form picking up girls or guys, you will feel better, you will be stronger, more healthy and when you get old it will keep you feeling and looking young. Just do it (not necessarily with Nike on)

A healthy routine including exercise, diet is a healthy routine everyone should do no matter what the body shape is! You should also include a visit to your physician prior to beginning an exercise diet routine. Having a healthy lifestyle makes ones life a lot more enjoyable.
