OK, a few questions:
1) Would you mind if your mother found out?
2) Would you mind if your father found out?
3) Would you mind if your friends found out?
4) Would you mind if your enemies found out?
5) Would you mind if your boss or work colleagues found out?
6) Would you mind if any future employer found out?
7) Would you mind if any future partner found out?
If the answer to any of those is no, don't do it. If you're fine with all of those, that's fine. I did some a few years back and a guy I worked with bought one. It took about five minutes to go round the whole company.
As Ohiospeedo said, a lot of the companies won't take the risk of hiring anyone who's done bareback, so if you go down that route, you're pretty much tied to that company if you want to stay in the industry.
Have you done any screen tests? Are you sure you can get it up on command and shoot on cue? It's all very well being able to do that on camera in your own bedroom at home, but when you're on set with a full crew and co-stars waiting for you, having done god knows how many scene changes, lighting changes etc, it's a different ballgame. Are you totally versatile? Most guys, when they start out, are lucky if they can pick what they end up doing, or, for that matter, who with, and not everyone is a gorgeous musclebound hunk or a hairy daddy, but you've still got to be able to perform with them.
It's not a job for everyone, but if you've got what it takes and you want to do it, go for it. Just remember though that once you've done it, there will always be pictures of you out there and if you end up in a job where it would be frowned upon, it can be grounds for instant dismissal or a public scandal. It's not something that you just do for the hell of it on a Saturday afternoon and forget about because it could affect the rest of your life.
Hope this helps, and good luck with whatever you decide to do.
