I never really got in the habit of using a personal lubricant when masturbating. I do enjoy the sensation of wanking with lube, but I never found it enough of a boost over going dry to justify the added hassle/mess. I normally masturbate 5-7 times a week (and have sex 1-2 times) and do it dry. I mostly focus on my shaft, going as high as the edge of the glans, but I tend to finish by rubbing my glans dry with a moderate grip. I find this gives me a more fulfilling orgasm than the shaft-only approach some guys seem to take (my girlfriend avoids direct glans contact during handjobs and when asked about it she told me all her exes told her to focus on the shaft and only touch the head during bjs).
I feel my penis is somewhat less sensitive than it was in my late teens/early twenties - I am 27 now, but I am not sure how much of this is due to how I masturbate and how much is down to ageing/no longer being a sex-crazed teen. I can last longer in bed and orgasms are as good as they've ever been, but I am unsure if my masturbation technique and lack of lube will have a negative impact in the longer run.
What do you guys think? Is masturbating dry harmful in the long run and should I try and use lube more frequently and/or avoid direct glans contact?
