IMO, She's a woman.
Her physical characteristics such as hairlessness and breasts would make her a target for unremitting sexual assault in an all-male prison and she deserves, in terms of basic human decency, the right to exist without that threat.

If the prison board and women prisoners are concerned that she has a penis, chemical castration could be an option until she completes sexual reassignment surgery. Granted, this does not mean she still could not sexually assault members of the female prison population, but that is, unfortunately, a threat people in prison face - even women.

Tricky question, I will answer intead: Should a M-F transexuals criminal be on a women prison?
No, at least until he-she does the sex change operation.

My reasons:
she-he has a cock and can use it with other female prisoners (yes, she-he behave like a girl but what if discovers that she is a lesbian with a built in dildo?)

Other female prisoners can take advantage of she-he.

she-he has a phisical advantage since the males are normally stronger than females she-he could abuse of that advantage.

The problem here is that she received the laser hair removal, hormone treatment, basically the entire gender change WHILE in prison. It is idiotic to allow an inmate to undergo such treatment. You're in prison, you lose certain rights, like the right to unnecessary medical treatments/procedures. Plus, it would put the inmate at such a greater risk for assault, and could increase the risk of consensual sexual activity, which is also a big no no. If the prison cared about the well being of this prisoner, they wouldn't have allowed the treatments in the first place.

I would bash UK for having WAY too soft of a criminal justice system(which they do, pathetically so), but there's stories of similar stuff happening in American prisons. It's absurd.

It is even more outrageous to go one step further and move the prisoner NOT for safety reasons, but so he can better experience life as a woman in order to potentially receive even more drastic, unnecessary medical procedures. Not THAT is something I don't think would ever happen in america. We may force taxpayers to fit the bill for dirtbag trans convict's hormone therapy, but the gov't would never go this far out of their way, putting other inmates at risk, just to accomodate an attempted rapist.

This is TOO absurd.

Not to mention, what about the safety of the women in this prison she's being transfered to? They are SERIOUSLY going to transfer someone with a penis and attempted rape conviction into a women's prison? SERIOUSLY!??!

Sorry, my mind was so blown by the absurdity and idiocy of this story that I failed to even answer the topic creator's question.

I think transexuals should be treated as real women, for the most part at least. Things get complicated when the issue of crime/prison arises.

As far as prison goes, a pre-op trans, no matter how hot she is or how big her tits are, should go to a male prison. She of course should be kept in protective custody and great care should be taken to protect her, but a male prison is where she belongs.

I think a post op can go either way. There's no danger of her impregnating or raping the female inmates(as a man would of course, other ways to commit rape, but a post op is gonna have no greater means to do that than any other real woman). I don't see anything wrong with putting one in a womens correctional facility. Now, if that post op has a history of violent crime against women, an exception most definitely should be made, and she should be dealt with like a man. Also, the physical build of the trans should be taken into account. If it's some 120 pound person whos body has almost no resemblence to a mans due to years of intense hormone therapy, womens prison makes sense. Some trannies are pretty damn tall, thick and masculine though, shit I've seen quite a few that I wouldn't want to meet in a dark alley. I wouldn't be comfortable with them being thrown in with women.

i think male to female transexuals should be treated as women even if they weren't born that way. if they have the operation to change their sex and the law legally recognizes the sex change from male to female, then why should society treat them differently from other any other women?
