Like I said, you'll have to ask him.

Well I didn't ask you, I asked NoCal. And my question was perhaps not serious. I guess you'll have to ask me.

I find your logic confusing, as well as your spelling. I am not concerned for Arkansas. Arkansas does just fine.

I'm guessing you're from Massachusetts. And you left out Kentucky, neener neener.

Really do need ta go slop them hogs now. Y'all keep er goin.
Ask Gymfresh yourself, I ain't your gofer.

I know you directly asked Davenocal, I was supplying you with a possible answer.

At least I have logic and nothing wrong with my spelling.

I am not from Massachusetts, I was originally from Oklahoma, lived there, Texas, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, New Hampshire, Vermont, Nebraska, Idaho, New York, Virginia, Indiana, Oregon and maybe somewhere else {only listed places where I received paychecks at some time}.

So I left out Kentucky? I also left out Missouri. Really, we could play this game forever, to what end? And kinldy explain what 'neener neener' is supposed to mean.

It's really just rural vs. city right? In every Southern state, there are large cities that contain a shitload of liberals and progressives. Nashville, Knoxville and Memphis have a BUTTLOAD of liberals in em'... in North Carolina, Charlotte, Winston Salem, Greensboro, and Raleigh (which are the largest cities in our state) are all filled with liberals.

Only a tiny amount of the conservatives want to secede from the union... none of the rednecks that I am surrounded by want to secede. They just would like a fucking job that pays the bills, that's all.

The "Sons of the Confederates" are a total minority in North Carolina now. I can't speak for any other Southern State. Even the craziest redneck in North Carolina is still much more kind and excepting than their grandparents.

I first started coming here to the foothills in 1979. Much has changed in North Carolina since then. I am sure that Tennessee and Virgina have followed suit and have enlightened a bit in the same 30 years.

The KKK has to lay low these days. The racist white people of today just want to live separately from the "ethnics?", they aren't all that interested in terrorizing them anymore. Is that enlightenment? Its definitely a step in the right direction.

People in this country should seek out information about the Scots-Irish (many who are neither Scottish nor Irish) people who settled and populated the South Eastern region of the U.S. They would understand those rascals much better and learn to love and accept them as the idiots that they are.

Actually, The History Channel's "Hillbilly: The Real Story" documentary narrated by Billy Ray Cyrus totally changed the way that I feel about West Virginians. It's pleasantly informative.

It certainly is. Actually some of the worst examples I've encountered were in pockets of San Diego county, where I lived for many years. Much worse than anything I ever experienced in the South.

Surely you don't mean Delaware. Please, it's next to New Jersey, and don't bother bringing up the Mason-Dixon line. The South is not lines on a map, it's a way of life and a state of mind.

Lower slower Delaware. I have a front yard that borders a 1000 acre lot where they grow corn and soy beans. One of my neighbors traps animals for money. Down the road is a wild life refuge. We don't have wireless down here. Drive west, I'd hit Maryland. Lots of trailer parks.

Like I said, these things are everywhere. Other than the trailer parks, it sounds pretty nice. Even some of those can be nice, I suppose. People have to live somewhere.

Depends on how you bend.
I don't bend that way. So I guess it depends on how you bend.

There's farmer's markets and you can listen to the local braggart about shootin' the neighbor's dog. Or buy a six foot long antique saw. Muskrat.
Realize that these folks aren't aware the obesity kills. Etc. And there's thet drawl after they spit their tabacky onto the ground when they speaks to you...

Yeah I could but the poster mentioned it, it's incumbent upon them to supply an answer when a question has been asked, failure to do so indicates that they are as ignorant as you.
Pot to kettle, pot to kettle . . .

Please do show me where you found that in the rule book. And once again, your logic eludes me.

Please do not resort to name calling. I've been pulling my punches with you so far.

Seriously dude, give it a rest before you really piss me off!

:icon8: . . . I'm new around here. Is this bordering on harassment? Anybody want to get back to the topic?

Oh, I think I see.

South = toothless redneck hillbillies. So good riddance to them all.

And then,

Northeast = elitist snobs

Midwest = insulated, out-of-touch wasps

West = decadent commie hippies

Is that about it, then? Or are my generalizations off a bit?

You missed the rust belt disenfranchised aspect of the midwest and the fact that tons of us are German/Irish/Swedish/Not Anglo Saxon. But yep I'd say that's the US. Except Alaska and Hawaii. Who knows what they do over there.

EDIT: and no maxcok, it hasn't come near crossing the line into harassment yet...watch the back and forth between the site's staunch "conservatards" and "libtards" and you'll see what's acceptable here as far as that goes

In Alaska, they hunt moose and stare at Russia from their porches, and in Hawaii they produce fake birth certificates.

Realize that these folks aren't aware the obesity kills.

But it doesn't, except in the most extreme forms (like, morbid obesity).
Huge, logical and entirely mistaken misconception held even by doctors.
You shouldn't take my word for it.
Google 'obesity paradox.'

(Worthy of a thread, actually ... and I've been intending to start one.)

Been there, done that, and held my own, no problem.

What I have not had to endure is a dense and obsessive poster repeatedly posting the same senseless off-topic questions over and over, when I have made it quite clear I don't want to play - interupting what might otherwise be an interesting, and who knows, even enlightening exchange of ideas.

Just wondering if that is appropriate. Certainly doesn't seem so to me, much less indicative of even a modicum of common courtesy or mutual respect, which I submit might actually be conducive to an intelligent discussion. Though I am not without fault, and at the risk of sounding presumptous, I think it would not be unbeneficial to raise the tone and tenor of debate here.

I thank you for your opinion; as I said, I am new here.
I am also Southern. We have a tendency to value these things.
