When I first told him it was broke he didn't believe me because I was so calm about it and it was the first time I had broken a bone. Then I showed it to him and he went  . It looked pretty bad when it first happened because it was like completely twisted around. Then I dropped him off at his house and drove to the hospital. It didn't hurt too bad until I went to see the orthopedic surgeon and he took my finger and just twisted it back around without giving me anything to numb it. Then he asked me "Why are your hands sweating, are you in pain?" That must have been the dumbest question anybody has asked me.

I understand. I didn't feel any pain either so I was calm and pushed the fingers back into the socket. Then it started to hurt. Now my joints get a little stiff.

You know... I never thought about posting this. But I have a self inflicted scar... I'll try and make it show seeing as it has dissipated pretty well. If not I'll draw over it to show what it would look like.

To answer njqt's question: its from a tracheoctomy. I was born 3 months premature and couldn't breathe on my own

I also have a scar on my wrist where a car aerial/antenna went into my wrist. As I jumped over the car (playing football on a car park), it went into my hand and I snapped the aerial off the car. Was pretty cool. I have another scar on my left wrist I assume where drips were put in but you can't really see it. I have another scar across my stomach where I was climbing a fence in my back garden and fell down it and scraped my stomach against a nail. It cut me open. D'oh!

But you can't really see those. The clearest one is my tracheoctomy scar.

Ok... So here is the picture that is worth a thousand words...
I was in love with my best friend. Threads of mine have been started before on different aspects of this love hate relationship..
Abuse?
Feeling Dejected
One year to the day
Well a few years ago I was suffering from some type of chemical imbalance because I stayed up all night crying,I engraved the first part of this scar into my ankle as a sign of love. His initials in a heart. But they say that you should put things you love inside a circle because hearts can be broken. Anyhow.. I wore a thick friendship bracelet to cover it while it healed. A few years later though... I stayed up again all night... I made my nose bleed by crying so hard over my friend coming out about being gay. I then took the same knife that I used the first time (which had become very dull from not being used for 3 years) and put an X through the heart.
When I applied ice to my scar today what came up strongly was the X. I had forgotten about that depressing episode of my life. But there is stands the heart and his initials, and the X that makes it all irrelevant.. and just another story.

Ps. I went over it with pen because my webcam couldn't pick it up, and my digital is lost in action.

I have a scar on my left little finger from a bottle of champagne that exploded when I set it down on the wine line at the winery 40 years ago.

I had scars for years on my lower legs where my rubber boots chafed through second degree sunburn, I was cutting off piers, at low water level, on a railroad bridge that we dismantled for timbers that we used to build our house.

Sadly, the scar that so many millions of men have and has yet to be addressed here, was caused, without their consent, by their own parents', "doctors'" and "religious leaders'", superstitions... their circumcision scar. Ugliest of all!
